MY GOD MAN. I thought I was bad about my corollas.... I am on my 4th now. My last corolla had 3 different engines over the course of a year. Went from 93 4afe (injector intake), to a 91 4afe (injector head), then a 7afe. hahaha
Im really digging this thread. You have done some really great mods and swaps. Tons of great info in these pages here. Keep it up man.
Im voting a great big HELLZ YES on the 7agte/L200. The stock 7afe rods (especially after 240km) are not likely to withstand 8k revs that the 4age head/ecu make or anything over 8lbs of boost from the charger. there are plenty of cheap H-beam and I-beam rods on the market.

Thanks for the comment @Weazler
Im glad my obsession for doing stupid things is helpfull to others and making them glad
So, I have not posted in a while, I quit my job the other day, just got fed up rebuilding engines every single day... I got another job already working for a big oil company, dont know what I will be doing there I dont start right away I took one month to relax, NOT, relaxation my butthole, I just bought another house Sold the old one and I had to sell my beautiful L200 also will miss that so much
SOLD
New house, new trouble, Offcourse I checked the garage first
Big garage finally, Yea i had a Mercedes Benz E320 Rwd over the summer (its sold)
Its nice.. a whole alot off work already put in it, I bought it in the end of July. I´ts two apartments and we are going to rent it all out.
Because of the house I have not had time to spend in the project but i´ve tried to get it running to see if the 2.0l engine was ok or not and finally the other day I did more small things...
Bought new sparkplugs, dizzy cab, and hammer, found used leads.
Also found out I wired the dizzy wrong
And then realizing there was something wrong inside the dizzy
Then going on google to find out that there´s a difference in a 3sfe and 4age dizzy´s so I opened them both and tore them apart
4age dizzy
3sfe dizzy
4age ignition axle next to the 3sfe
Apparently 4age dizzy uses fever sensors then the 3sfe and it counts the rotation on detonation on all four cylinders but the 3sfe only counts nr.1 cylender. so that´s why the engine only cranks over and dosent start, Im in heap of trouble...
This is something I did not expect to run into right now, I thought the dizzy´s where all the same in Toyota´s, damn it.
Ive been talking this over with my Toyota buddies and trying to come up with an easy and cheap solution for this...
nr1. Find another engine harness from 3sfe that´s not cut in peaces and make another spliced up harness to fit the 3sfe engine and ae111 corolla and put the dizzy back togeather and on the engine, but then I have to change the injectors to stock and use the engine as stock...
nr2. I´ve already done the harness for 4age engine to fit a ae111 corolla why not swap the 7age engine I already have into the car and use my supra injectors and all the cool add on´s I have for 4age!
nr3. Brake it, sell it and start another one, refresh button, not my idea!
If anyone has the nr4. solution that involves less trouble please post!!!
I might add that I´ve already thought of the coil pack ignition system but I cant use that if the 3sfe dizzy rotation sensors are the wrong ones, then I would have to get a hall type sensor on the crank.. to much work.
In the mean time I got fed up with the build and put the corolla to rest at my new house, going to start on this again when I start working again at the new job, hopefully I will have more time after work then I had at the old job
Moving
Until next time, hope you guys have had grate summer!

Nope, cant use that, apparently its got the hall sensor on the inside but I cant see how it knows where the pistons are on stroke....
But thanks for the advise
3sge dizzy
After thinking this over and over and over again, even wrote down on a paper like Ross did with Rachel in Friends pros and cons of what to do and what to spend with what engine it all goes the same
the 7age is the rode to take, its the cheapest, easiest and thinking this over and over It makes me want to do that.
But for now Im going to wait for my brain to want to do more in the project kind off got fed up when the dizzy pissed in my face
Until next time.. have a good day you guys

I just realized there are some theeth under the 24theeth wheel on the 3sge ignition axle on that picture I just posted above, I cant find any other picture on google that shows how many those theeths are, do you know how many they are? if not could you by any chance check it out for me on your 3sge dizzy?
3sge dizzy might work after all...

Wow, just how fast time flies
I have been super busy the last 7 months, my new job is grate Im all over the place fixing stuff for my company. Made couple of new friends and one that I could call my brother
I will kick this post off by telling you that my blue rwd corolla is finally getting started on again but first I post about my beloved daily driver that broke down on me two days be for new year!
The day it broke down just couple of minutes later, the radiator fan broke and hit the radiator and it blew up and threw coolant over everything
So i was out of a ride back and forth to work so I had to buy a new ride while I fixed the Pajero.
My friend had this ae101 sedan, the one I fixed his auto befor but now I made it manual for him
For the work I put into the corolla I got this Nissan Cedric Diesel instead from him that became my daily and still is to day, love driving it so smooth
I started fixing the Pajero little by little when I had just a small window of time
Bought another used radiator and it was 6cm longer then the old one and I had to raise up the body by 6cm for it to clear the body and engine
So because I had the radiator out I decided to change the wator pump
Man that was a mistake, I broke the las bolt holding the pump in place
I drilled it out by using the old pump, took me two evenings though
Mini me checking out my work so far, he loves the Pajero
Bought these body raise up blocks for 4runner and machined them to 6cm
And voila, just couple of loos ends left, raise up the bumpers and step side
Will be driving the Pajero in next couple of days, I need it so much
So on to the matter most, I think
Its been sitting and waiting for to long now, poor rolla
I went with the 7A-GE route and that has been a wild ride! I have bought and teared down 4 engines so far only to find out the bearrings or piston walls where damaged to unrepaired, so now I have a mountain and a hill of engine parts in my garage hehehe
Last weekend I picket up a set of 7afe and a E57 4wd transmission from a ae101 Touring
Brought it home
Opened the valve cover to have a look, it was ok for my taste
Removed the head, everything I could see was ok, nice honing marks still present
Turned it over and opened it up and removed the rods´n pistons
There where a little scars on the rod bearings, im in the search for new as is
The list of things already bought so far: Adjustable cam gears 4age 16v head gasket 7afe and 4age timing belt Porche 944 117T Bigport pistons with 20mm gudgeon pin holes (had them already)
The only thing im standed on are those bearings and now im thinking of adding a renault clio ARP rod bolts to the stock 7afe rods to hold better when revving
Hope you guys still like this slow build I will have to cut open a can of beer to fix all the lost pictures in all the other posts someday.

Finally first test drive video, still running little strange might have to retard the adjustable cam gears, already retard 3° deg.
Both of my toys, actually my daily and the hopefully new daily this summer
Inserted some gauges to monitor the engine better, aftermerket rev gauge water temp gauge after it has cone through the engine, temporary O2 gauge just to fill the hole, looking for an oil pressure gauge, and last is a volt gauge.
So this engine is a holy lowbudget build just so I could drive it this summer its equipet with stock 7afe basement and I mean stock, driven 224.000km new 7afe headgasket, used 7afe headbolts, 4age Bluetop ae92 16v head stock camshafts, T3 adjustable cam gears, Porche 944 116T timing belt, 4age timing belt tensioner, 7afe stock oilpump, 310cc 7mgte injectors, stock 4age waterpump, 4age steering pump, 4age harmonic balancer, 4age alternator 4age ecu and harmess cut and connected to and into the factory body harness and relay box, might be forgetting something....
In the video im struggling with faulty waterpump or a gasget is gone because its dripping coolant, and some water hose in the back is leaking coolant also. And in 4400rpm i hit a slight bog in partial throttle but not if im in full throttle, also in the video the corolla is Rwd

Im all about machines so i bought this used lathe or what you call it i dont know the name in english.
Its so i can line work my heads my self and the blocks 100% Because the headgasket in my 4wd/rwd 7age just gave up also i think i blew a piston rings in cylender 4 but i had a real good time with it now to build another motor

Thank you JDM20VAE101
Here is a quick update. Actually already happent in november-desember 2016.
I bought a ae101 4wd wagon with a running 7afe and tore it apart. I salvaged only the 4wd parts and fuelcell.
Brought the engine and gearbox home and removed the head
Went to my Toyota parts garage and picked up another 4age bluetop head from ae92 and aligned the surface (done this many many times)
Sprayed the new 7afe steel headgasket with coperspray and torqued the head down.
Went to the Toyota garage again and collected all the 4age stuff on the outside of the engine insdead of taking everything off 7age engine nr.1 wich was still in the enginebay.
Everything done i think.
Then went to the next street from my house with the corolla to the lift and took my son with me.
We took the 1st 7age out. A nice view 4age fwd and two 7age 4wd
Then dropped the 2nd 7age into it
Timed it in checked for leaks
Then the next day going to school and home i completely destroid the engine drifting all the way home taking every turn sideways and just two blocks from my house one of the rod bearing got massaged to bids. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10154095908932717&id=633217716&fs=1&ref=content_filter&__tn__=R&_ft_=
And the next day it snowed so took it out again https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10154097300152717&id=633217716&fs=4&ref=content_filter&__tn__=R&_ft_=
So i parked the peace of crap again and went to buy another engineblock actually did that in november i was going to make this one a Turbo build but that has to wait for now.
So this is going to be 7age nr.3 to hit this blue turd.

Last summer i bought my dream bike Kawasaki Gpz500s and just been using the bike everywhere i went. I started school again after last summer finishing my engine engineer and added lathe engineer to my school edjucation this year.
so thats the bike from the movie True Lies with the big chase scene with the bad guy on the big and Arnold riding a horse!
There is another bike in that movie i want to get some day. Its a kawasaki zxr750 when the kid on the bike picks up Arnolds daughter to school.
And shortly after i bought that Gpz i started looking for a bike project instead to take on and paused the corolla project for a while, and i found this Gixer 750cc all mangled up so for couple of months last year i collected parts and made it whole again.
All fixed for now paint it winter 2017
Already this month ive prepped the bottom half of the 7age
I went on ebay. Bought new main and rod bearing new rings.
I messured the cylenders for egg shape warpage
Then messured the ring gap on the new rings
Then bean-honed the cylenders
Put the crank in again with new bearings
Put the pistons in bath
At last i washed the corolla. First time in 4 years ☺
Opened up 7age nr.2 from the bottom to have a look
The crank got all busta move on me
Its good that this turd is rwd and such a fine and funn thing to drive
Thats where im at now. Hopefully im driving again next month.

Got a package today.
Been waiting for this since July 2016
Two used 4age heads and rods and pistons
I think its late bigport. The rods are 25mm thick might be good for turbo.
7age continue
Cleaned all of the 7afe pistons and put new ring on em Two in two to go
All four in
7afe and 4age oil pump. Went with the 4age
Pump on and new 4age timing gear
And last i did was the back, new gasket and seal
Found another 7afe engine block. It was in my engine washing station. I dont remember when i put it in there

Its a mistery where it came from
Didn't do much today. I got the 7age nr.2 out of the turd
And home, ready to transfer everything 4age related over to nr.3 7age
I like to show you my work space dedicated to rebuilding engines

I like to show you my work space dedicated to rebuilding engines
Washing corner station
Standing drill cnc used as a shelf for couple of my twincam heads
Storage, oils, 4age-starters-alternators-harness ecu and internet computer for ebay and youtube only
Everything iron. Sandblaster and welder, storage
And then my old 2tonn hydraulic lift
My garage is almoast complete. Im searching for a small valve grinding machine then i need a hoist that can reach for engines from the door to the washing corner then im all set i think
Then i went to say hello to a friend of mine, he was fitting a 1G-FE 2.0l 6cyl engine wich he bought from me, into his Starlet
Completely hacked up firewall

I have been looking for wheels for the blue blacing hot rod to ride on when using the car from a-b and i wanted to find one of my old set 18" 5star rimz.
I had them back in 2005-2007 under my first 4wd project G6 AE111 corolla
I put out an add on facebook looking for them and it turned out one of my car friend got them for trades for 22" dub wheels that needed repaint. I called him up and they where now mine again
You might want to know more about my old G6?
I bought it stock looking with 1300cc 6speed and the following wheekend i lowered it and swapped to used 4age.
1.3l sold
4age in
Me fixing exhaust
Complete
I used it everyday drove over 30.000km in 6months, then blew a bearing so i rebuilt it, it was my first ever!
Then about 6months later i wanted to do something more to it and bought a silvertop 4age and a blacktop harness and ecu, back then no one had done st with bt ecu atleast not online so i was afraid it woulden work but it did....
Engine arrived from canada and i wanted to do more than swap engines. I had already collected 4wd drivetrain to fit the car.
Here the bt harness is in the ae111 carib harness next to it is the E57 4wd gearbox
Me making a huge mess first time fitting the E57 to the st
Everything in and running like a champ
I sold it to a friend. Bought it back 3years later. Sold the st and bought a bt and rebuilt it. Drove it for 1year then sold the bt. Bought a 7afe and turboed it then sold the car to another friend that still ownes it running 4years and its his baby.
Here is a link to all the crazyness with videos and alot of pictures if you like to see more maad corolla stuff. Hope you enjoy.
