3S-GE Swap into a corolla!!

what kind of transmission would i need with a 3sge swap??

i used the stock s54 box

so if the 3sgte transmission is part of the sale im good to go then right? cause i have an automatic and im guessing im gonna need to make a whole on the firewall to put the clutch right?

im getting closer to beginning a swap in my rolla. however while im most likley going with blacktop...i keep coming back to 3sge. i was thinking redtop but with the price and aftermarket support..id be better off with the 3sge like yours here in the states. now from what ive heard 230 to to 250 iss being produced from this engine stock? correct me if im wrong.....lol well im not looking for a racecar and i just want my car reliable for everyday with a little more umph.....which is why i was going blacktop....but besides fabrication...how reliable is this engine? im still sort of convinced that for the buck and longevity the blacktop is for me.

the rev 3 3sge is bulletproof, never seen any actually blow up or die no matter what mileage.
the 3sge doesnt really have alot of aftermarket support but thats the same with most toyota n/a engines.. breathing mods and aftermarket cams, piggyback ecu.. and you could push it to around 250bhp n/a roughly..

they came 168bhp (with egr) or 175bhp (without egr)

the redtop beams came with 200bhp..

Just out of curiousity, how do the angle of the driveshafts compare between the 3sge vs stock? Do the axles have any more angle in one direction vs another? It would be awesome to rock such a swap but I really want to know whether or not being slammed will take too much of a toll on the driveshafts

I've found a couple of rev 3 3sgte's and now I'm thinking

the driveshafts are similar to the stock shafts, the engine sits like its supposed to stock..
im sure iv got afew pics of the underside

in regards to the below

ST182 driver side shaft
MK2 Rev2 MR2 Passenger side shaft

you get the entire 182 shaft and the entire mr2 shaft and they will work with the ae101 hubs?

in regards to the mks rev2 ? do you mean the sw20? we don't use rev1 etc in Australia

one more question i may have missed reading through all of your posts was the shifter cables?

used celica shifter cables

i just found a celica in my local scrap yard

all there as well.

would it be a good idea to take the entire shift mechanism off the floor and transfer the whole lot onto the ae floor?

no, just need the shifter cables, i used the stock corolla shifter

Do you mean the whole driveshaft unit which includes the cvs? Will they join the ae101 hub?
