Haha, would you believe that someone said the exact same thing to me the other day? I can assure you they're the same size front and rear - Robbiemulc17 wrote:

I don't do a lot of night driving to be honest, but during the times I have the light output has been fantastic. Please bear in mind that these are genuine Toyota BZ Touring headlights which brand new cost me close to $1000 NZD ($830 USD, €605, £500) brand new from the dealership just over a year ago, so if compared to the cheap knock-off replicas on the likes of eBay etc then the build quality and light output is going to be much different

| Oh it's all good I just found a side profile pic and indeed you do
I read that having changed to disks will throw the rear offset about 10mm inwards is that legit?

You can view pics of the swap on page 48: http://www.ae101ownersclub.com/t32p846-my-93-corolla-from-new-zealand-jdm-ae100 I didn't see any change in the rear offset after the swap. If there was a change it certainly wasn't big enough for me to notice.

No I'm still using the original proportioning valve. I did take it out a little while ago to replace it with a SuperStrut valve (same brake set-up as mine - 275mm front and 266mm rear) but after removing the old valve I discovered that the new one had one less port on it, so it wouldn't work. The reason for this is because all SuperStrut models have ABS brakes. I may end up swapping it again but next time from a normal McPherson strut Levin GT Apex without ABS, but since the braking performance is already very good I probably won't bother as the original drum brake proportioning valve does a good enough job as it is

| Oh ok I might leave the prop valve until the engine swap then I have the right one but don't want to take off the inlet manifold off to do it
You have used the brakes in a spirited way ? They operate normally no weirdness?

You have used the brakes in a spirited way ? They operate normally no weirdness? You should still be able to easily change it with the inlet manifold in place, but it would certainly make sense to do it while the engine is out. A quick tip is to loosen all of the brake lines from the proportioning valve before you remove the 10mm retaining bolts holding the valve to the firewall, so you have enough leverage to crack the lines open without the valve moving around. Yes I have used the brakes in a spirited way, including some emergency braking from idiots pulling out in front of me. On most occasions it has locked up very quickly (due to no ABS) which is something I still have to get used to, but they definitely operated normally with no weirdness. - Skorp wrote:

Thanks mate! I'll definitely have to agree with you there. I felt like the car was "missing" something, and it turns out this was it
