1993 Corolla ae100 **5sfe swapped**

Hello guys.... i have been admiring this forum for a while and I have finally decided to join the forum and do a post about my car (i like to call her "cheat code" or "ceecee"....

sad to say though... i only got to drive her for like 2 months before i started hearing a knocking in the engine bay... turns out my crankshaft was gone.... also further investigation showed that i had blown a gasket... /facepalm.... then the engine hunt began, as i was home researching possible swaps (was leaning towards the 4efte).... someone asked if me if I don't know anyone who wants an engine to buy... talk about luck... so i bought the 5sfe and the swap began 2 weeks after buying it... i took my time with this swap and on the 1st of January 2014... she roared to life and was driven home...


Now for the sad part.... two weeks after driving my car... this happened           Broke my rim, ripped the shock right out of the mount etc... On the brighter side.... the engine was okay... and now i get to customize her... it's a little sooner than i wanted to but hey.... life... but yea.. that's my story thus far... btw that 5s pulls like a mofo... in two weeks i have smoked 2 subaru's .... a forester and a legacy b4... haulin a$$    

Yikes, how did that happen?  What will be your next car?

wow it was coming along nice lol. good thing is your okay and yea what exactly happened? You really gonna restore her or just buy another?

loving the 5sfe swap, i can understand how you beat the subarus, they are quite torque engines too

sorry to see the wreck, what are you going to do?
fix it or swap the motor into another corolla?

Ahhh that sucks man! Reminds me of my car. You gonna fix her or swap into another car?

thanks for the sympathy.... and ofcourse am fixing her again... no doubt about that.. how it happened? a lady that was oncoming kind of cut the corner and she got brushed and spun her out and well blew out my tire so i couldn't steer much so the car kept straight over the drain (which broke the rim and probably did most the damage to the suspension)...

Call me optimistic but i see this as an opportunity to do whatever mods i can to my car.... Color change, bigger rims to support brake upgrade... the works... i will try to keep you guys posted.

So far i have already gotten most of my suspension parts. Just trying to get a door, a panel and a windshield. Wish me luck!!! hopefully i can complete it by end of February.    

wow thats awesome, yup what most people consider a loss others see as a opportunity to build something great. When my axle broke i took that as a opportunity to start my 20v build so keep on friend and cant wait to see your progress

Seems I have been set back.... Chassis bent   so I might have to go get a new corolla body and do the swap again.... Out of commission for a while... I'll keep you guys posted...

Oh.... i will.... Trust me.... I loved that swap... Right now am trying to get this guy to sell me this shell he has.... Cause noone wants to let go of these cars around here...

well.... forget that... one person wants to sell me one without a windshield, right apron and pretty much every other part I need for $1300... keep in mind i bought my car for $9500... now the other seller I went to wants to sell me one that has no ignition switch, no interior, no door handles, rust spots... and a transmission (which I don't need)... for $5500.... hmm... I say they keep them and I just try to pull and straighten my car... it would be cheaper... because after spending that money I might end up spending more money on the car than what I bought it for..... what do you guys think?

okay guys, i know i have been MIA for a while, but i have been trying to figure out what to do with my car. The first mechanic i went to, told me that it doesn't make any sense to try and fix the car, that would be too much work. After hearing this, my brothers and I started stripping the car. we started at about 9:00 and by 12 noon, the engine and gearbox with the harness was out and on the floor next to the car, all speakers were out, clutch pedal had been removed all the lights were out. The mechanic left a full car and came back and met a shell. lol.... he was like   .... Anyway, I wasn't ready to give up on my baby just yet. (funny thing happened though, after the mechanic told me all of that, one of his workers approached me and told me to sell him the wreck, because his uncle says it can be fixed -_- )... Anyway a few weeks later, I called another mechanic and he came to look at the wreck, he was like.. meh... this is an easy fix, there is nothing wrong with the car. You can just imagine my joy hearing those words. So another few weeks later, I got the wreck to the mechanic, and the same afternoon he start on the wreck and had already pretty much straightened it out, but because all the parts weren't present at the time all the work was seized on my car. However the final part arrived today, the door, so hopefully work will resume. But yea, that's where i am now, waiting patiently.... pics will be coming soon... stay tuned....
