4A-FE gearbox to 4A-GE engine?

Heya.

So, I found a really cheap 4wd corolla wagon for sale (800€ only) wich I've been thinking about buying as an organ donor for my own project.

I am wondering if anyone of you people knows if the gearbox made for the 4A-FE would fit on a 4A-GE? so I could use the parts from that donor to make my car 4wd and get the 4A-GE engine from somewhere else Been trying to find some info but couldnt find anything :c Also I decided to change from my original plan of using parts from a celica and putting a 3S engine on mine, but when I asked about it from the people on the registration center or what ever it is called, they told me it would be impossible apperently cuz the engine size and power is way too much larger and more compared to my current 1.3L engine :/

But if anyone knows something about the gearbox, I would be more then happy to hear something

Assuming you mean the manual gearbox. It should bolt up with no major issues. But check Wikipedia on gear ratios. There's a lot of variations of the "C" series transmissions with slight differences (most of them being internally).

iv seen people use the 4afe box with the 4age engine. the gear ratios are longer if i remember correctly.
you should be able use a 3sgte 4wd engine and box, the only thing you would need to change would be prop shaft i think.
i know the 3sge drops perfectly in with a s54 gearbox, cant see it being too much work to drop a 3sgte into a car thats already 4wd

the 4afe 4wd box won't like the power of a 3sgte a 4age on thge other hand sould be fine. And yes they do bolt right up

I am not going to put a 3S-GTE on mine no more, I won't be able to get my car registered with that engine, too much power they said. but if the 4A-FE gearbox fits a 4A-GE gonna go with that.
