| Hi guys, this is my first post on this awsome site, so i do hope i get a good response and things go well here for me.
I have a 1993 Toyota Levin Silver top, my gearbox recently starting to give a raking sound going into gear. I want to change my Clutch, Throw-out Bearing, and Pressure plate. The problem is, my dad and I are going to do it our selves, as he is generally very good at mechanics, but mainly on older trucks and vehicles. Here is my request.
My dad wont be 100% sure on the step by step method of getting this done on my car, so is there anyone here that would be kind enough to give me a relatively detailed step my step method on pulling down the gearbox? Thats the main part, and if you are kind enough too, you can add in how to replace those above mentioned parts, and then re attaching the box onto the engine. Thanks! | |

| **First you'll need to remove the wiring connected to the box (reverse light switch, earth wiring) you'll also need to disconnect the clutch pipe on top of the box next to the shifter cables, these will need to come off also.
**Jack the car up and remove the wheel on the gbox side, then unbolt the hub from the sub frame this will allow you to remove the drive shft from the box without undoing the main hub bolt as it can be a real pain in the a**e
**Remove the starter motor
**Unbolt the gbox from the engine but make sure you have the jack holding up the box, you don't what to drop that on you.
**Once all the bolts and drive shaft are removed slide the box off the spline and lower.
From the sounds of it your Dad should be sweet with swapping the clutch. Then its reverse to put everything back together.
Let me know if it needs more explaining.

| Thanks a million bro, we got it sorted out already, thanks again. Now I have a blown head Gasket, I think it may have been how my mechanic torqued down the head. Can you plz tell me what the torque bar should be set to, to properly torque the head down? | |
