| Hey guys I recently got my hands on "JDM" headlights and I'm just curious if I should just get connectors or what... I really want to get rid of the stock headlights cause the accident I had a while back. But I REALLY want to do the projector retrofit that i saw on the DYI section and I think I understand your gonna need different connectors for that set up.... So just so I'm not trying to confuse anyone should I do the h4 conversion? Or should I wait for the money to smack me in the face and get the retrofit projectors? And then do a conversion? Oh and since we're on the retrofit, I've looked at the DYI at least 100 time by now but ,when it comes to buying stuff i usually think alot and end up confusing myself. So should I just get those parts separate? Or get it as a kit? Cause I'm exploring the retro fit website and i find they have a kit. But I wanna spend my money wisely... . | |

| Hey man,
If you want to run the JDM headlights, just get HID H4 bulbs and plug it into your current HID kit. Really cheap. No need to do any wire splicing or play with relays or anything like that.
But for the retro fit, you're correct about needing different connectors because you're using another bulb. It's still plug and play, no splicing. And the connectors are only like $8 a piece if I remember correctly.
I would definitely check ebay for the separate parts first. Take your time and shop around a bit. Last time I checked, TRS only sells the latest equipment. You can get the first or second generation FXR projectors on ebay for a bargain now since they've released the 3.0 version on TRS.

| But I use high beam at night or the "right to flash" cause Maryland people can't drive and need someone to flash thier headlights at them....(yes Marylanders are kinda full of retarteds when it comes to driving) | |

| I feel ya. You can still use high beams if you buy the H4 bulbs that have both low and high output. It'll come with an extra set of wire coming out of it that you just stick into your existing high beam socket. That's what I had on mine before the retro. | |

| Yeah, honestly, that's the easiest thing to do. Even though the HIDs will be especially blinding in those head lights, getting the hi/low kit will be the easiest way to do it. Yeah I'm also in MD, but I never flash. So, while I was waiting to do the retrofit, I just installed the low beams only, with the H4 bulbs and connectors from the parts store.
Keep in mind that any money you spend on HIDs or connectors now is money you should be putting towards the retrofit.... and the retrofit will light up the road better than you've ever seen before lol.

| I'm new, and came up on 93 Corolla. I just bought from ebay a set of HID H4 lights (plug n play) for my ride; now I want to kow if need any type of relay(s), fuse(s) and/or if it needs grounding?? I have no headlights right now (tossed the factory set cuz they were being held on with duct tape), so any information will be very much appreciated. | |

| Nope, no relays and fuse. You only need that if you are using the stock non-HID H4 bulbs. | |

| Well in my case HID doesn't work on stock wiring. Soo I purchased a relay harness and that work. Anyway I recommend to use always a relay harness to have a constant 12V and maybe to not burn you car lol. | |

| That looks like a low-beam HID kit harness. 1 and 2 plug into your ballasts, 5 plugs into the low beam closest to the batter, 3 goes to the battery + and 4 is ground. | |

| I have had same wiring harness in my AE101 before. Worked like a charm. Keep the electronic relay box dry. Mine died because i did not keep it in dry place.
Only problem by installing was the high-beam light on the dash.. to let that light work it needed a resistor (or 5Watt bulb) into the factory headlight connector that you dont use.
