David's 1:25 Model Build - 06 Camaro Concept

Its not finished yet, but thought I would upload the pics I have and share what I have done so far:


I forgot to take a pic of all the molds and just building away:










And thats the engine ready for installation. Unfortunately, I ended up spilling the aluminum paint onto my desk and it dried up before I noticed lol

Then I sprayed the interior cockpit, doors and rear seats with primer:















and thats the interior (or step 2) done. I kind of want to go back with the green and straiten up the lines on the seats, but could risk just making a bigger mess lol. everything is so tiny lol.

Step 3: The Dash:





and thats how far Ive gotten so far. Plans are too ever so gently touch up around the vents with the steel paint (wish I had chrome). and Im thinking of painting the steering wheel green. Plus I am going to attempt to apply the guage cluster decals which is going to be impossible because they are the size of a small lady bug (if it were flat). and they are real decals, not stickers so I have to press them on. good grief lol

Been a while since Ive worked on this, but I figured today would be a good day for it with all the freezing rain. Its almost done, just need to finish mounting the wheels and the rear bumper. What do you think of the colour I decided to go with? lol:












I think I went slightly overboard on the detail of some parts (cant even see all the stuff I painted lol)

and yes, the car is the same colour as my corolla lol. Except for the hood, I went a little overboard on the hood too. Tried experimenting to give a pearlescent effect of green and black.

For the hood, I started out with a clear adhesion promoter, then did 2 light coats of silver lacquer, then 2 coats of clear, then 2 coats of green enamel (but just along the sides of hood), then 2 coats of clear, then 3 coats of gloss black enamel, then 2 coats of clear, then another mist of green then more clear coat lol. Turned out pretty good and it was freezing outside (had to keep moving the stuff inside then out to keep it warm (even used a fan heater)).

Im trying to mount the wheels to give it camber too

I really like this haha. The model kit seems like it would be pretty awesome to tinker with, especially paint. I do enjoy the colour you decided to paint it and the hood does look a bit pearlescent.
