| Very nice! Easy and predictable understeer, some bodyroll but that will be better when i buy shocks and awaybars! The powersteering locked up very often... is this a problem with these cars or are my oil bad? | |

| iv never had a problem with powersteering pump.. maybe you need to overhaul the fluid? if that doesnt work then look into buying another... if you want you could probably remove it to save weight | |

| Yeah that's true i was afraid that the tyres would be really bad in rainy weather.. but it was really no problem! When thinking of it, just competing with these guys was my goal. Last race with the beemer.. they were 5 and 6 seconds faster than me :p That shows how good the rolla is! ( and how bad the Beemer was) I will do some maintenance on the rolla when i have money to spare.. Will change brakefluid, powersteering fluid, motoroil, transmission oil, change headgasket, timing belt + some more.. Want to do a exhaust aswell, but i need to ask if its okay to use in the standard class.. | |

it was a Ford Escort MK4 1.6 Ghia..Around the same power/weight figures plus he's a better driver He's is a guy i respect much..one of the guys who is arranging the races. Normally he drives a Volvo 360 2.3L with 200 Na/bhp, or a Ford Cortina fully race rigged with around 250 NA/bhp or a Opel Kadett rallycross car with a Volvo 2.3 engine, around 300bhp i would guess. - gold94corolla wrote:

| Thanks! Was at a hillclimb today! Strangely, a Corolla won in two of three classes! This one had a 20v 4AGE. Didn't talk to the driver, but it was seriously fast! This one had a 3s-ge engine.. Think its of a Camry? originally a 2.2, but bored to 2.3L. 4age 16V head, some valves, springs, etc. Maxed flow in the head aswell. Pretty big ITB's, a huge exhaust manifold. 270bhp, crazy fast and a nice sound! No power steering, so he had massive problems keeping the car straight under acceleration.. He gave it full power after a 90deg corner... just drove straight off the road! | |

| 3sge is a 2.0 (out of celica and mr2), 5sfe is a 2.2 ( out of a camry). maybe a 5sge?
they both look like some serious cars though

| yeah! I guess it was a 5sge :p Really happy with the rolla, altough i have been thinking of a new engine.. What is the easiest engine swap in the my Corolla? I think it would be just as good to get some "better" engine in the rolla than modding the 4afe.. Do you guys know if there are any engine that is just bolt on? Some smaller electrical modifications and other than that, bolt-on? | |

| i didnt actually do the electrical, but what i can see.. theres 2 looms, theres 2 fuseboxes both joined together one for the standard interior bits to work and the other for the engine and 1 ecu rev 3 engine came with 178bhp... mine has 185bhp | |

| 4age 20v. Same mounts as the 4afe. Trust me i know I've done the conversion in my car. I'm not sure how if thge dash looms in the Euro's are the same as JDM (NZDM aren't) if they are its a straight plug and play system, and you can argue that fact that the ae101 came with the 20v so its factory no mods needed Ishaq do you know if there are two engine to dash loom plugs?? | |

| nope interior loom goes from the interior into one fusebox and then the 2 fuse boxes are joined together and then theres another loom from fuse box to engine/ecu | |

| okay, so its just to get a 20v with the engine loom, other than that its bolt on? I use the original transmission and everything? I'm considering to upgrade to the modified class now a tuned 20v would be so great in the rolla.. altough, i do not think it would make me much faster on the autocross | |

Sorry Ishaq I was meanting down by the ECU, the oth plugs into the Fuse boxes are all the same from memory. The gearbox and mounts are all bolt on. You are right though the 20v is a revy engine you would need to get more low end power to autocross. But if you do go to the Mod class so many options open up, twin potts from the superstrut ae101 would be a huge help
