| Hi! I'm looking at Rollas again, after one month since i sold mine. The beemer got sold as parts, after i hit a pole with the " trailer hitch" The whole car was crooked, the boot didnt close, the rear doors didnt close.. But cosmetically it was okay. so i got some good money for it So i have been trying out some Autocross with the old beemer, and i really loved it. There are three classes i can drive in. Beginner, Standard and Modified. The Modified class is above my budget, if i want to compete with the best. The class wich interess me is Standard. Where i think i could do well with a Rolla! I was thinking about a hatchback A100 Rolla with a 1.6 4afe engine... but they are hard to find here in Norway. So maybe a Saloon would be okay. The hatchback would obviously be the best when it comes to size, but what about weight? Do anyone know which type is the heaviest? They weigh 1025kg both on the internet. but i do not belive they are the same? And then there are the plans to the car.. The rules says: Original springs, Original dimentions on the tyres, Original interior, no more than 9kg/hk.. When i got my rolla, it was really like a boat to drive.. would like to change that feeling Soo i was thinking to buy some good swaybars, some good shockabsorbers, some good tyres in the smallest dimension allowed on the rolla, light rims.. Anyone know where i can buy the parts i need? Hope the shockabsorbers and swaybars will make these cars good on tight small circuits.. | |

| mine weighed 1150 (last time i had it weighed but it had 2 full toolboxes and random crap in it) richards levin was about 1080 iirc
sway bars and strut bars you can get from ultra racing, i can hook you up with some prices if you want i have a contact who can supply them...
light rims would be a good option, it doesnt state size, but as the stock steelies came with 14's im sure you would need 14' alloys...
get rid of not needed items from the bay, AC for example.. make it as light weight as possible...
btw whats 9kg/hk? | |

| Is there any weight difference on the harchback vs a sedan? 9kg/hk is a measurement of how much power you can have compared to the weight of your car. 114hk/1025 is exactly the most power you could have. so if you calculate it with the numbers given from toyota then the rolla would just pass this weight/power figure. | |

| Tested and looked at a Corolla now today. Less rust, and less milage than my Wagon. Made the guy a bid, and i hope he accepts it. As i loved the car Do you guys know or have any experience with some struts? Thinking about somthing like Koni Yellow or somthing sport that is adjustable? I know of two sets of sway bars, whiteline and Ultra Racing.. Is there anymore available? Would love to get a price from your guy Miib14 | |

| There are OEM sway bars, but those two are the common aftermarket brands.
The adjustable shocks are nice, but quite pricey. Pairing those struts with sport lowering springs, you are spending coilover money and might as well get coilovers. | |

| Have to have OEM springs though Chris Koni adjustables or even Tokicos would be really good. | |

| yeah, the rules say i have to use the original springs. How is the Tokicos? Are they a big upgrade from the original struts? Koni's are expensive, but atleast i can adjust them. I guess the Konis is going to be adjusted to max stiffness anyways, so if the Tokicos are as stiff as the konis, then its no problem.

| Well I'll be darned for not reading the first post! Seems strange that you'd be able to put on such good struts when everything else has to be stock.... Aren't there different classes? So you could still use coilovers in a different class? | |

| Yeah, i can use coilovers in the Modified class. But i need a good built car for even competing in the top five.. 400kg Mini with 100bhp, Caterham with 150bhp, Porsche 911 GT3 and a E30 Touring with M3 3.2 engine and a 600kg fiesta with 160bhp..All of the cars are "racecars" from top to toe. This was the top five last race. In the Standard class, pretty much anything could win. It depends on the driver. Last time it was a Fiesta mk5 with 103bhp. | |

| I can vouch for the whiteline bars , I'm running a whiteline soild 19mm rear sway and a standard 25ml front a BZ, adjustable links all round, standard struts with aftermarket spring, HUGE difference the car holds the corner with 0 under or over steer even when I was giving it 100% trying to make the back end step out it wouldn't. I am running Yoko Advan tires as well | |

| okay, How much difference is there on a swaybar kit with everything else original? Its like a boat now. Very soft. I'm not allowed to use Roadslicks in standard class... i think even the swaybars are illegal.. :p | |

| Have been talking to the fiesta guy, who knows the rules. And he says, just paint them black, and nobody will notice! So i guess i will get some nice new swaybars soon! Picked up the Rolla today! Love it! Just the same thing as my last, this just feels fresher. Less noises and more tight Will take some pics and make a tread for it to morrow | |
