| could be a loose connection either behind the cluster or at the sensor, or could be a wire has started to mess up..
i had the same problem but mine was because afew wires had fused together behind the dashboard

| looks like it could be a loose wire, or speedo has been opened and messed around with... try to get another set of clocks (any e10 one from scrapyard with rev gauge) and plug them in and see if it has the same problem

| it wouldnt be that it just needs calibrating then due to having 17inch wheels now 16inch wheels but it started life on 14inch wheels? | |

| dont be put off by it, like i said get another cluster (shouldnt be more than £15) and plug it in and see if the problem is still there, if you lived closer i would have just taken mine out and plugged it in to your car just to check if it had a problem | |

| use a tyre size converter to see how much your speed has altered but if your cars 15 m out you need to look at replacing the speed sensor that’s on your gearbox it has a 3 pin plug | |

As long as you get the appropriate matching tyre size, increasing the wheel diameter shouldn't affect the speedo by more than a couple of %. I'm running 17s and my speedo is bang-on.

| driveshaft are quite easy to take out but you need to unbolt the hub.. also depends which side the driveshaft. one is longer than the other, and the longer one has a braket on it which needs unbolting | |

| With your speedometer, does it function normally, just off? Or does it hesitate, jump, get stuck, take a while to start reading, etc. | |

i have to take driveshaft out to get to the speedo unit? or are u confussed what thread ur in ishaq lol :p damn i hate mechanical things lol :p will be handy if i do have to take driveshaft out as mine needs replacing so I could do both driveshaft and speedo at same time - Quote :

it seems fine chris untill it gets to bout 40 then it seems to stop or get slower and slower the faster i get for example if im doing about 50 it says 40 then when im doing 60 it says 45 and then 70 is about 50ish? something very weird going there lol I would say maybe a jammed cable but it cant be as there isnt one lol I have had the dials out numerous times and I have checked the connections and they all look good. The copper terminals inside have your usual scrape connection marks but nothing untoward i would say and it all looks intact

| Well it's getting the signal obviously, but the clock itself seems broken since it gets stuck. | |
