i love this idea anyone else done it and is it easy to do? is there a factory mount u can buy or is it a diy job?

It is quite easy. The factory mounts will work, they are universal brackets, and you can bolt in any single or double din universal unit. There is no need for a faceplate, either. The only thing you would need is the radio and the wiring conversion harness.
