Happy times with the Nissan Micra and all the corollas, miserable Ford Escort and dire Vauxhall Corsa (was a stand in car until I got the Corolla 4wd) that I had only 4 days then it got stolen. Recovered a month later by the police but by that time I borrowed from my uncle his nice Nissan micra. Normally when you receive a call from the police you would be elated to hear your car has been found and apart from a smashed ignition barrel everything was a ok. But with the Micra in my hands really didn't want to know about the corsa so I told my uncle it was a wreak and was to be disposed of. I later bought the micra from my uncle anyway. They (the Police) then wanted a release fee even though they caught the crooks who took the Corsa. It felt like I had been robbed now twice a this point. I hated the car anyway and left it with them. I thought they could just get the ignition repaired and paint the corsa police colours and stick a blue light on the roof. Motto of the story is, if it not Japanese it's not of any interest to me.

Picture of my beloved Nissan Micra. Not an import so very basic but again like Toyota nothing goes wrong. It was such a light car that it could get up snowbound hills no problem. That really did shock some 4x4 owners to see this little red arrow doing just about anything they did. I even managed to get hold of the original 12" Nissan Micra wheel trims. They were hard to come by but after 2 years of searching they came up. I miss this car at times.

cool micra, my mates got one of these and he is doing an sr20 conversion on it lol

These are great cars. However when I took it over in 2007 the paint was completely lifeless and the black bumpers and trim were a worn sun bleached white. It took a least half a year to bring it back to some sort of presentable state. My uncle loves his Nissan Micra's so much but mechanically he was ignorant and washed it always with washing up liquid. This had caused some drying and cracking in the paint finish but no rust whatsoever. I had the car fully serviced and cleaned, and it really gleamed despite some blemishes. When the Corolla came I offered the Micra free to my girlfriend but she declined. I offered it free with about 7 months of road tax remaining so it would be kept. Sadly she is not a car kinda of woman and I as much as I liked it I could not afford to run 2 cars, but maybe with the recent push to give her the incentive to drive, that may now change.

I don't think we have Micra's over here, I really wish we did cause some I see are amazing. Nice list of cars too, glad you are sticking with Corollas I know I am definitely going to be staying with Asian cars, I hate the way some of my friends cars drive.

I love to read this kinda stuff, to me this is what a club is all about. The pationate stories that people have for thier cars. At least you have still got yours m8 my love of a car has been crushed threw my stupidity bout 8 years ago. But rest assured I wont make the same mistake twice and I am hoping my new corolla will make me just as happy but thankyou for letting me read your story
