Corolla Sound's 97 DX AE101 On-Going Project

I need to fix my leaking transmission and I found out that its my Tranny coolant line that is leaking. Hopefully there is enough fluid to get me to work this week. It still shifts fine, but for how long....

Im thinking of ripping my AC out for a weight reduction. But my subs and amp would be going too. Still thinking about this.

Noooo not the sub.... the sound is so.... empty without it

I know, but 60 lbs of subs is a lot of weight, not to mention the amp and component speakers.

How much does the AC system weigh? I bet if I took out my AC and sound system, I could take out atleast 80 lbs or more. but I would definetly be getting a new header before I remove my stereo so that I wouldn't have to listen to my rattleing exhaust.

Painted my plate bolts from Green to this SH%T colour lol. I tried making my own anodized purple by mixing a Red Metal Flake paint with a Blue Metal Flake paint (Testors paint for model cars) but it came out really dark. I tried fixing it by thinning some of the Red but it still looks black on camera, uplclose it does have some slight purple characters to it, but not what I wanted. Should of just left them green lol

I think the AC-system alone should be like 30-40 kilo's and then your sound... 10-20 kilo's I think... depending on what you have exaclty at the moment..

Is that how people make anodized colors? It doesn't look bad though. I actually like it more than the green.

I like it more than the green also, and you can see the purple in there kinda.... I feel like that colour would look really unique on a set of wheels :O

That sounds about right. ...but I do know for a fact that my subs (in the box) weigh exactly 60 lbs. I was joking with my friend one day while moving my subs and guess that they probably weigh 60 lbs. He said no way, so we bet on it and put them on my bathroom scales and I swear they were 60 lbs right on the dot lol. Is that not a good guess or what lol

haha, good guess for sure! My sub weighs probably 6 lbs

Nope, it's actually 2 6" or 6.5" speakers in a small box.... it's off an old TV system! :lol1: Free, good Bose sound, and lightweight!

Whoa, for some reason missed all the posts on the compliments on my new license plate bolts, but to be honest, I have no clue how to make anodised paints lol. That was my first time mixing paint EVER! lol. It actually does look kinda better than the green, plus there are spots I missed so there are green patches on the bolts lol.

Nice pic but the maple sap residue is almost impossible to wash off and will eat in to your paint eventually

Going to have to get this washed soon as I am going out to tkae some more pics tomorrow with a 300zx and maybe a 180sx. Wish I knew more local Toyota drivers, I feel so alone out here. The leaves are piling up nicely along the road sides. I want to do it today because it perfect weather but hes working today.

I had plans to do some engine bay cleaning but it looks like its going to rain. So instead I decided to clean my rims and wash all of the "maple syrup" off my car. Going to be tricky. I already put away the hose for winter, so will be washing with buckets (and a handy spray bottle). To show you what Im dealing with:


I should of washed this off first as it has now dried, now its going to take a lot of scrubbing!
Then after picking all the leaves off, I moved my car onto this, uhh...what ever you want to call it (used to be a hockey ring but cement went to shite so we tore it down and currently there is a BBQ pad and an unfinished shed. I am currently using it as a "roofless garage" lol.

The only other Toyota enthusiasts up here are a Supra (but the owners an asshole) and a mess-load of 4Runner's, Taco's and Tundra's. Would have been nice to have more car's, but oh well... haha, and tell me about the maple sap thing. The second largest oak tree in Ontario (used to be the biggest till they cut half the branches off) is in my neighbours yard to the right of my car. It just covers my car in leaves, and I have 3 maple trees on left of my car, which cover it in sap :/ #CanadianProblems

I like your suit for cleaning but the wheels do look a lot better.

Lots of Toyota Enthusiast in the big city of Toronto, but thats about 2 hours from me. Theres another drift event at my local track coming up next week end (last of the year) so hopefully there will be some more Toyotas. Im pretty sure the 1J Cresta and the mysterious black Toyota (think its a Cresta too but not sure) but they both have lots of power and like to tandem. and there is usually the odd AE86 and Levins out there. CANT WAIT!!!

and lol It looked like it was going to rain a lot harder but I guess its not coming til later so thats why I was fully suited lol.

Sorry, your right, its not that dirty, but it has tree sap all over the hood and roof that you can see and the bottom of the car is a little dirty!

Wish I was rich, I would re-cement that pad and turn it into an auto garage, it would be spacey, but pricey to build lol.
