| Cage is Cusco, checking everything out after lock up then some running in / testing then a Summer tour, Japfest first then wherever there's action.
Always looking for rare parts.
Put an intro up on Toyotaownersclub.irl as they'll appriciate.

| More pics . Closest I could get to genuine TRD alloys, 7"x17" AEZ's with E-bays finest stick on centres. Corolls T Sport front brakes 275 x 25mm discs, calipers fitted straight on with only a little modification. New discs [drilled and grooved] to be fitted. . Got me a TRD horn button off E-bay. | Mine's McPherson strut, always has been, I got the SS from a GZE Levin that was being broken. I needed the gearbox, the guy breaking it wanted the engine, I had to do a deal for the rest of the car, now got McPherson coilovers and the SS parts are on E-bay.
Brakes -
Having the SS from the Levin looked at fitting the twinpots, yeah they fit but the disc diameter has to be reduced - option 1.
Then changing pads on T Sport tried disc on 20v, straight on 4 x 100 and 55mm centre bore, turned freely all be it a but close to dust cover, checked the distance between caliper mounting holes, same diameter, same distance apart - Option 2 maybe.
Got a set of discs and calipers from a breaker and a set of new pads from Toyota - disc on, easy, caliper bolted up without pads also easy, used wheel bolts to position disc where it would be when the wheel's on, disc turned freely but does not go through the centre line of the caliper. Solution is to change the angle of the caliper where it mounts on the hub, it's about 2 degrees and can be done with a grinder and a flat file.

| Cool, i upgraded mine to avensis calipers and pads, used standard corolla discs.. Its a good cheap upgrade and the pad literally is the size of the disc lol | |

| Can't stop now, I've got the Poncams, I've got a spare head that needs porting, bigger valves, new springs and retainers to buy and fit. I've got a bigger crank pulley to give more boost All this is for the next stage, for now I'm going to run it as it is, for a few months anyway. | |

| What's the milage on her, after 150k's the rings tend to have worn, even with regular servicing. they then start to burn oil which can lead to oil starvation at crank, that's why there are so many bottom end failures available - poor servicing, high miles, thrashing when cold, not checking oil regular.
Mine got to 224k's and was down on power, recently stripped that engine and the pistons almost fell out, no resistance from rings, well worn.
The Rotrex engine was completely rebuilt before fitting. Bought a "bottom end failure" engine, spun a bearing on rod 4.
Forged crank, rods, pistons and arp bolts/studs, acl bearings, full gasket set and a good few months paying for it and putting it all together. | |
