Well here's my corolla..............

1994 corolla gxi in bronze

4efte conversion
fmic
5zigen exhaust system
gutted cat
baileys dump valve
turbo timer
6-speed gearbox

20valve rear lights/reflector
quad headlights
lowered 30 mill
Xtatix 15"alloys

ive removed the mbc thats in the pics since and she is now running on the stock high boost setting of 0.65 bar................

how hard was the 5 speed to 6 speed conversion?
also did it make a big difference?

love bronze in these corolla's, not too many about. the 6speed box is good from about 3rd on but 1st and 2nd are not great to be honest......engine bay needs a bit of tidying up all right but overall im well pleased with her....

ok cool.. was it a straight swap?
iv been told accelaration is alot better than the standard 5 speed.. is that true?
also have you noticed a difference in fuel economy?

car was converted by the previous owner, im reckoning it is running the 4efte with about 7 years now, the box is out of a g6 corolla and yes afaik it is a straight swap, from 3rd on she pulls really well, 1st and 2nd just seem to be too low, revs like mad but doesn't gain much ground, i usually wait till she's in third before id flow it (will make the box last longer too)........pretty good economy just cruising along at 100km in 6th.......

Have also fitted some genuine toyota speakers that were fitted to some of the jap 20 valve models..............

ive no idea...lol...... she's fairly standard except for the front mount and exhaust, never had her on a rolling road, might get her checked during the summer if i get a chance............

with regards to the mpg, from a full tank to when the light comes on i get about 340 miles...........

the 6speed makes a diff for a long spin...thats when i get the 340 miles( sometimes more).....normal driving up and down through the gears its between 290 and 310 which is still good for just tipping about the place............its on high boost all the time, 0.65 to 0.7 bar.... i dont rev the fuck out of her all the time though so that helps......... Is the 6-speed box a little 'crunchy' when it changes gears? I heard that they are compared to the 5-speed but not sure if there's any truth to it.

Ive heard that they are weaker than the 5speed but my one seems to be holding up ok although it is worn all right, been in there with a few years now. driven a few standard e11 corolla's with this box and they were very smooth...... prob just depends on how they have been treated really...................as i said before i dont over rev it in 1st and 2nd and i reckon this would help them last longer....but thats just my opinion Very Happy

Yeah that's true. I guess the people who buy BZ Touring wagons know they've got a 4A-GE BT and a 6-speed C160 so they thrash the crap outta them Laughing

. Might look into getting one when I eventually do my 4A-GE BT conversion Cool

This is a genuine corolla colour all right, straight from the factory but not very common, " Orange Mica Metallic " colour code 3L1
