Corolla Si

1998 :
i bought my first AE101, it was a sporty Si model and i still have it!



2011 :
On odometer is now 320000km (about 200000miles?) and the rear arches are -again- red/brown and very crispy.



The costs to fix the rust were too high. So it was time to say goodbye to the one that never let me down in 13 years and look for other car.

So, i bought myself a ´new´ used car...





Same Si model, one year younger, with a/c and 200k km less on odometer. And.. no rust.
First put my Azev 7,5x15" wheels on it and have the custom FXGT exhaust swapped from old to new car.

Time to give some parts new paint. First we take all parts off.




Then the solution to prevent color differences between old and new paint

Color is same as original.. 8B6 - Strong Blue Metallic

Looking well, has the fx bumper been modified for the fogs?? i thought all fxgt bumpers looked like this...............

Correct, its a FX bumper. The foglights came with special mould to cut out a piece to fit the frames.

All Hatchback 92-95 model have that bumper here, only the Si (or GTSi) models have the black front lip extra as on the picture of AE102GXI. The big lip i have was optional extra. There was also a lip for the rear. Both very rare and hard to get.

Thanks. My bumper have only some small modifications : the foglights, some plastic is cut away from the center for the aluminium mesh and added the big bumperlip

In the meantime im breaking my other SI.. well, i have transformed it to a base model now..
When my new one is ready it will get a kick to export who will give him a looooong vacation to Africa

Yeah, a fresh paint is already a dream of many car fanatics but the shine of this job is really amazing.. Makes me SO HAPPY

the quality of the finish on it is amazing,looks like first day.he is one good spray painter who ever he is.
