4AFE Breather Hose blocked off

Hi

I am trying to work out what this hose is ,the end of it attached to the intake plenum is blocked off. I have tried poking some wire in there and it feels pretty hard, so before I take the Intake Plenum off to have a look I was hoping someone would know if this hose is supposed to be blocked off?

This is a 1995 Corolla Seca AE101R, Australian version car

As I mentioned on Facebook, it isn't blocked off - it takes a 90-degree turn as soon as it enters the plenum casting (doesn't break through to the main part of the plenum) and then runs down a tiny gallery to the throttle body flange where it comes out pre-butterfly (thus picking up fresh atmospheric-pressure air)

You can see the porting on the throttle body face

(may need to open it manually due to Photobucket screwing up hotlinking)

and on the throttle-to-plenum gasket (centre-left, inside the cam-cover gasket and above the spark plug tube seals)
