4age 6 speed tranny shift link upgrade??

Subject: 4age 6 speed tranny shift link upgrade?? Thu Mar 03, 2016 11:00 am

Does anyone know what shifter/shift links I have to pull out of another car to work with the 6 speed that came with my ST? It was a big surprise as normally they are 5speed. My current shifter doesn't reach the reverse without making a mess in the shift brackets on the actual transmission, what I mean but that is the the arm that pulls the other arm out to allow change in gear slips out from under it and then I can't change gears. :/ so if any one can tell me what shift cables they had to use and what car can I find in my USDM junk yard.

You have to use the 6 speed shifter cables and shifter set up Silvertop only came with C52 and C56 if you can fiind a BZ in wreckers

Yeah, no BZ in the US unfortunately

Actually, I removed the linkage from mine and put a torch to it. You can then bend it over slightly to reach the desired position. I would say no more than 1/4 inch will do. You can find a few pictures in my build thread where I had to do this.
