Not aware of a piggyback ecu for our engines unfortunately. Only option would be to go full standalone. I've considered this route for mine, and did a good bit of research in that area. Megasquirt can be the most economical if you get the DIY kits, but it's a lot of work, a lot of wiring, and right now, not enough upgrades on my motor to justify going thru all the trouble.

yea ive been doing some research on this lately too. since im staying auto though im unusre of what standalone to actually get. i emailed megasquirt and they told me their PNP diy ms2 kit would work but to control the engine only. I was hoping i could use the standalone to help adjust the timing for the auto if at all. Im unsure if this is possible but they told me i would have to do a parallel intillation where the stock ecu remains in place to control the transmisison and the ms2 controls the engine.

I'm working on adapting the MS-I board 3.0 to the 4AFE and I think I'm almost there, just hadnt have the time/patience to do it
on the video you can see the megasquirt conected with a patch cable to the original wiring, the 14point7 lamda controller, and the notebook, when I turn the ignition to ON, the megasquirt starts just fine and shows the air temp, coolant temp and TPS correctly, the dashboard also lights up correctly, and when I try to start it I get the correct reading from the sensor on the distributor (just like the original ECM works) and see the engine turning, you can also see the Megasquirt modifing the injector pulse width but I had the ignition cable disconected because I didnt wanted to wreck anything.
If I remembler correctlly there is much more information for the 4AGE with megasquirt, but as they said there is nothing you can do if you also need to control the transmision

trufauru im not sure if i need to control the transmission per se, i was just checking if i can just use the ms ecu without doing anything extra to control the transmission. if it works as it should then i would be ok

Any one ever tried greddy management ? I was wondering if a greddy ultimate would work
