Open trumpets or not?

Hi guys..so I got a silver top 20valve with black top comouter...just put on black top throttles, and will put in the black top intake cam also...my question is...which so u guys prefer in terms of performance and why...
1. Taking off the plenum box and turning the black top standard trumpets/velocity stacks upwards?

2. Leaving the box on and just may me running a cold air intake?

Took off my box and opened up the trumpets, found acceleration was lost, but maybe now I have more top end power in top speed, anyone with similar thoughts or ideas ?

I took mine off, but i recommend getting an FPR to adjust the fuel pressure along with adjusting the distributor to advance timing slightly. That might help with the acceleration issue. I definitely recommend getting at least a air filter sock for each trumpet, or make something to keep small debris from getting in. I made screen gaskets for mine and plan to get a new filter housing soon. Its really personal preference.

Hmm thanks bro, I have to get some type of small wire mesh and cover them to keep out debris yes...and ya again I find acceleration was rly screwed...that's why I was wondering if to try a cold air intake instead...or maybe I need to have a vent cut into my hood to help air to get to my trumpets easier...I will look at advancing timing from my distributor tho and see how it works. Think my throttle position sensor needs to be set properly now again too..
