| Hi guys,
My factory remote has given out on me and I cant change the battery.
Anyone know the location of the CIR in a 1.8L Conquest AE102R Sedan. Toyota told me it is up under the dash but I want to be sure which one it is before pulling anything out Haynes Manual was no help either
Been quoted $226 brand new from toyota Quoted $20 from a wrecker if I take it off.
Thanks in advance guys.

| I assume you're referring to the Integration Relay? If so, why do you need to access it? A new remote is coded to the car by inserting it into the receptacle found inside the glove-box.
Also, what year is your car? The later-model Australian Corollas did away with the Integration Relay and combined it into the BCM (Body Control Module)

| It's a 12/98. It's one of the remotes that has the two metal pins at the front. Toyota said to me if they can get the remote to work once they can program a new one. Otherwise need to change the integration relay. The remote is gone, dead, deceased. The only thing stopping the immobiliser turning on is because I have the remote in the receptacle | |

| From memory the battery can be replaced, just not user-serviceable (no screw to undo the case etc). Fairly sure my parents had the battery replaced on their '96 Camry remotes some time ago (same style remote as the Corolla ones) without needing a whole new BCM. | |

| Rang my local Toyota dealer and gave them my VIN. After they had a look on the system they said because it has the metal pins on the top that connects to the receptacle in the glove box it cant be changed. Also its not just the battery that is dead all the insides are rattling around on the remote. I'm surprised that it doesn't turn on the immobilizer because of that. | |
