VR6 Swap Into AE101 w/4AFE

Hello all
I'm somewhat new here with posting but I love this forum. Anyways, I have a love for the VR6 VW motor but love my AE101 so much. I'm looking to potentially engage in an eventual 12V VR swap into my AE101 and was wondering if anyone has done this or has any known whereabouts of a possible build thread.
Loving everyone's builds and finished products. I know it sounds like a ridiculous and foolish swap, but I've worked on many friend's VR's and know my way around them, and I absolute dig the motor. I feel in my AE101, the VR would perform quite well for a daily with some mods-nothing extreme.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I've not heard of this being done, but anything is possible.
I say go for it

tbh never heard of this swap before, i have seen a number of different engines in the ae101..

2jz, 3sgte, 3sge, SR20, 2zz-ge, 3vz (v6), 1mz (v6), etc

go for it, just measure up both engines, box, shafts, etc
it will need quite abit of fabrication though

I have some connections and friends with connections and I am really looking for a somewhat "small" v6 (even though a VR is not technically a V6 per say).
I love those motors as well as VR's and since this in particular has not been done, it just makes me want to do it even more.

Any similarities between the flip-up era Miata's and AE101's? Specifically dealing with strut towers and the brake-to-strut mounts.

really the ae101 is not like the miata, its similar to alot of different toyotas from the 90's, quite afew bits were interchangeable. the celica, mr2, carina, etc .

its just a matter of trial and error, i had the same problems when i did the 3sge swap into mine..

if you do go ahead, we would love it if you documented all of it and posted it on this site
