Right so after the sad demise of the EG, and selling the subaru.. a mysterious voiced whispered to me to go back to Nissan. Now having already built a Turbo N15 wasn't keen on a) doing another turbo N15 b) driving a bog standard GTi. Was very close to buying a R34 GTT in white but then settled something a lil less good... Nissan Micra!!
After reading about others rust problem with there Micra's, was determined to find a MINT shell which i knew would be hard considering these cars are the best part of 15years old.. But they say good things come to those who wait...
If this goes well im hoping to do it for couple of other people as well.
Before
Now you see it..
Now you dont..
The Blues Brothers
Nissan Micra 1.0 1.3 Cams 1.6 Injectors 4-1 Manifold HKS Mushroom Filter Lightened Flywheel Custom Roll Cage Cut Springs Snap Off Steering wheel Bucket Seats Fire Extinguisher
The car is an ABSOLUTE mint shell.. its got a few, i mean a few dings and bumps nothing major! Theres one teeeeny weeeeny bit of rust, infact it aint even rust just starting to bubble, size of a sweetcorn (My bro Passats got more rust :p)!
First thing was to get rid of all the shit sticker stuck anywhere and everywhere to hide the defects!
And get rid of the shitty interior! the seats felt you where leaning against a rock and dont even get me started on the steering wheel
This is where it begins boyss
First thing first;
De stickered -
Engine y0
Started collecting parts
Donor car yessssss!!! - Almera GTi
New seats - Recaro
GTiR fuel pump (it will fit had it on my turbo)
Brake lines
Got few whiteline bits
Brand new: Rear ARB
Panhard rod:
New clutch and lightened flywheel
LSD FTW!!! (very rare to get for a almera gti)
Jerrick @ MeisterR is doing me a massive favour so should have Zeta-R Coilovers from him in next 6-8 weeks cant wait. Price he gave me is unbeatable even almera's are more expensive lol
So all parts are here just need to get the shafts made, tomorrow engine should be out so off we go...
Engine out of the micra
Engine out of the Almera GTi
Well firstly got the mounts lined up then welded them after a mock fit
The underbrace needed a little shaving
Engine in perfect i thing :tt2:
Engine out and welded properly ( need to neat it up a little)
Sprayed the rear satin black
Custom shafts ( painted to see if any hair line cracks so far so good)
Interior sprayed black
Treated the damn rust ( will weld a patch on tomorrow)
Painted the alloys
Final look
Sprayed the rocker cover:
Engine bay ready to be painted:
Stripped for the wiring now:
Everything nearly finished now!
Engine out fitted the LSD box, new clutch and engine/box painted silver... manifold also sprayed with VHT paint.
GTi brakes on with Goodridge brake lines.
Front/Rear ARB and panhard rod fitted. Will need spacers for the front to stop it touching the gear linkage and manifold. Had problems with the rear arb will need drill out the snapped stud.
Recaro Seats fitted
Raditor on with two slime line fans
Nismo Strut brace on
Booked in Unique exhaust on thursday cause no exhaust atm... getting 2.5 mandrel bent system with either a SPOON N1 backbox or a Skyline R34 backbox
Well thankfully everything is done...
Had to get the passenger side shaft shortened cause of the lsd
Had to make custom ARB brackets so it doesn't touch the shifter
Rear panhard and arb fitted
Also got the water pipe on the head custom made so i could mount the rad pipes properly.
Half under sealed
Had a go in it no problems at all
Will sort and tidy up all tomorrow hopefully

So you're posting this for the OP? I was trying to figure out where this car came from hahaha. I like all the work, under the hood and the exhaust... and the LED tail lights! Are the last pics here the newest ones? It looks better with the grille installed (not the mesh) imo.
