rebuilding a cv shaft question

hey all i have a 96 toyota corolla all the way from australia and i have to replace the outer cv shaft because the boot split and its clicking on full lock

im not new to the car seen because i own a modded ford fairmont station wagon

my problem is i got the outer cv cup off but i cant get the rest of it off because of that dam circlip is there other way to smash it off so i can rebuild my cv shaft

the cv shaft is on the pasanger side which is the left and we drive on the right hand side
