4E-FE mods

hi everyone, i want to change the air intake in my corolla but i want to stay with a stock filter because i dont like the sound of the conics. the stock tube that come of the air filter to the admition have two boxs like reserves ? is that good or doesn't matter ? i could put photos here to help..

try an uprated air filter?
the 2 boxes are there to reduce sound

What is an uprated air filter ? i'm thinking put one tube on the bumper to push fresh air. you think that if i take off the 2 boxes and do this i have differences ?
