| Hi guys! Super keen to be here and learn all I can about the car I intend to build up as my funds allow for it! You can find a thread I started in the Hatchback section that I will be keeping up to date with my woes and progress I make with the Rockin Rolla, but don't expect anything too amazing, or even speedy progress... Life threw me a curve ball recently, and I haven't managed to return it yet. Please be patient with me if I ask stupid questions, as I'm doing it out of inexperience and inability to find a response I can make heads or tails of. Regards, Jay | |

| Thank you all for your warm welcome! I'm in Green Lane. Just getting the battery, tire puncture, and an oil and filter done tomorrow hopefully. xD Such an interesting week. xD Got told I didn't make the cut for a job, then that very same night hired direct for the guys I used to work for instead of sub-contracting, and then tyre punctures, battery seems flakey, and finally have a bit of dosh to do that oil and filter she needs along with hopefully the coolant and fix the tyre so I can get it off the space-waster! xD I'm sure I'll cry for help when I start to do more involved things to her, and there will be beer, snacks, and bucketloads of gratitude to any that answer. Likewise, if you've got cool shit going down with your car, drop me a line, I'll come be an extra pair of hands so long as I have the time spare and enough fuel. Just don't expect a massively competent set of hands, though I do follow instructions well! xD I did notice one thing about it tonight though - it seems to be totally stock JDM as far as the body goes. | |

| Mmmm I can only hope. I should head to bed, I'll have to get up at a reasonable hour tomorrow as the only place around here that will do a tyre repair and is trustworthy on the battery scene doesn't like to stay open on Saturdays. xD | |

| Just go to Supercheap for a battery, probably cheaper than a battery place and they're open all weekend. Plus I work there, so you know | |

| I must remember that Aidan. I've PM'd you my number if you need any help or questions just holla. A little while a ago a got the waterpump, all the belts, all the seals, tensioner, basiclly every thing for a rebuild bar the mains and rings for $550ish all genuine, so that will give you an idea on cost for it. Oh and fitted it myself with Dindo's help | |

| Hey Aidan, that's good to know! Will definitely keep it in mind. Yeah, I picked up a maintenance free one from Repco for $148. It's one of the better batteries there. < - - - All I know about it. She's up and running and wanting to race about now I've done the oil and filter too. The biggest crime is how dirty she is right now. I don't have anywhere to shine her up nice. God it would be nice to have a little space to bucket-wash it at least. xD | |

| Jamie, you're a scholar and a gentleman. I never would have guessed about that indicator, I had assumed it would be a wire earthing wrong somewhere or a blown fuse. :S Thank you kindly for your advice over the phone. | |

| Will do! Ahhhh the engine is running nice and cool and responsive so I found a back road and put the foot into it, and it turns out she'll still put out if you just ask. Oh myyyy dat engine sounds.... Mmm me likey. It would be so much more fun with a bigger engine, but give it time and I'm sure I'll give it one. | |

| Don't need a bigger engine to be fun I give turbos a good run, and all mine has is a BT swap | |

| Hahaha what I meant by that was going from the ST to the BT. xD I wanna rebuild the ST first though, for experiences sake at the very least.
Hell, even the ST is quick for a stock as a rock 1.6
Edit: Sometimes I'm a bit casual, so please forgive. I'm editing the curses from my posts as we speak. xD This will be left as a badge of shame. | |

| Yeah, I was just doing some research and there's only a difference about 5hp to the crank.... Absolutely no point in changing it unless I go to anything but a 1mz-fe coz even the AGZE is only about 10hp higher at best. Though I suppose the main advantage of the AGZE is the much higher torque. xD | |

| Yer more torque and it gives a base for turbo | |

| Mmmm but the mz-fe despite being a far more complex swap would give better torque, horsepower, mileage, and still a good base for turbo. xD I think though, until I learn a lot more about it I'll tinker with the ST until I decide whether to attempt an FE or ZE swap. | |
