E11/E11U suspension same as AE101/102?

Hey guys,

I was shopping around for coilovers and was really interested in these but I'm not sure if the 98-02 E11s are the same as 93-97 AE10x. Could someone enlighten me?

I just went through those and the spring rate on them are overkill for me personally.

Here's what I've found:

Tein Stechs (Very firm and comfortable)

Front = 179 lb/in= 3.2k

Rear = 140 lb/in = 2.5k



What I would like

Front = 223 lb/in= 4k

Rear = 167 lb/in= 3k



D2 (I had these and did not like them, so anything over 7k and 4k is a no-go)

Front = 392 lb/in= 7k

Rear = 223 lb/in= 4k



KW (Uses rubber OEM top mounts, dampers are preset by manufacture, and rear progressives rather than linear.)

Front = 285 lb/in= 5k

Rear = Progressive

I thought you knew that it was all the same! You did have the S-tech springs, which are only made for the 8th gen.

but lol, the spring rates on my IS are 14 and 12!!!

I wasn't sure if Toyota decided to go with a different suspension route for those.
but I know the 8th and 7th gen sedans are the same here in America.

lol I could never imagine 14 and 12 on a Corolla . But you have a heavy car so it would make sense for it to be that much stiffer than the coilovers made for the AEs.

The HKS drift coilovers for the Soarer are 20/16kg We're just running the "normal" Hipermax IIs which I think are either 16/10 or 12/6

OK, yeah I knew I was missing SOMETHING lol. We practically grew up together, there's no way you wouldn't know that!!

Sure the 14/12 is very stiff, but even so, the car still feels heavy in the corners. I wish I could make it feel like the Corolla!
