| Hello all! I'm new to the forum and would like to introduce myself. Glad I finally found a spot where I could dig on my car as well as others and gain useful knowledge on Corollas.
I have a 1996 Corolla DX 1.6L DOHC I recently bought close to new headers for a whopping $50 due to my terribly beat to hell manifold that needs to be replaced. My exhaust is disgustingly rusted out and has some leaking due to small holes. I'm desparate for an exhaust-something that'll improve performance/airflow, but will not give me an extremally loud sound. I was wondering what some systems/set ups were that gave the car a nice and mild hum? Where can I get them and what's the dough range?
Thanks all. Pics to come soon. ,Cheers!

| You can always get a custom one made at a shop, though pricing would vary. I know there's a few ebay ones that range from $130-200 for a full catback, they tend to be loud and somewhat droney though, but putting a silencer in the muffler could change that.
Welcome though! | |

| I would recommend a 2'' free flow custom job, my car is NZDM and had no CAT to start with, and I have used the standard headers so I assume aftermarket ones would make it a bit louder. My exhaust cost all of $600 I think in NZD which I thought was pretty good, its not very loud, perhaps a little louder than a standard Integra Type R exhaust. But it makes a good noise and is enough to let people know that your rolla is something a bit special. | |

| Welcome!
I don't think there's much improvement to be had, unless you remove the restrictions in the cat or exhaust. You've already got the headers, that helps, and makes it louder. The Ebay stuff is too big and loud IMO, but you might like it. I would recommend a custom setup from a local shop, welded from your headers back. They will probably be able to give you the soudn you want.

They did an awesome job and a amazing sound would highly recommend this to any one
