Hi folks, at Woodsport we can cater for pretty much any engine conversion idea you may have. Our installations are second to none and we have built many show winning and magazine featured cars over the years.
One we did quite recently was an Ae101, the car appeared in Banzai not long after its conversion.
This particular Corolla was a 20v GTFX model, here is the engine bay before we started....
With everything fabricated the engine was then overhauled and everything detailed to produce the finished conversion...
If you have any questions about this or any other conversion please ask, prices for your conversion will vary depending on your ideas and requirements, thanks Paul.

It was our very first attempt, as you know we normally do Mr2's and the like, we have an Ae86 to convert in a few months.

would love to see a v6 corolla, something like a 2gr in an ae101
we know that a 3sge and a 3sgte fit, and what info i have got, iv been told a v6 engine from the camry sits in the same mounts (correct me if im wrong)
that would mean a v6 should bolt into an ae101 chassis?
if so that would be an AWESOME project

I think a V6 Ae101 is possible, i don't think it will bolt straight into the mounts though, it would need to sit in a different location to get clearance in the bay etc, but a 1mz-fe in one would certainly be entertaining!
I think a 2gr might be a little heavy for the Ae101 though, that would be one scary ride.

205bhp, but it's the torque that matters on those V6 engines, 200 lbs.ft all of which comes fully in by 2500rpm and pulls right to the redline, they have a huge powerband.
That means you can sit at 30mph in 5th gear and floor it without needing to change down a gear, you just can't do that with a 4 pot.

I've been looking to do a 1mz swap a while now in my ae101 levin, but it doesnt look like any mechanics are brave enough to try it locally.

I made a post of zerotohundred's toyota forum to hear peoples opinion of attempting the conversion, most ppl were against it. Mainly because they stated that I would have problems with the weight of the 1mz.

I'm afraid to say they don't know what they are talking about, the 3s-gte that we fitted to the AE101 is HEAVIER than the 1mz, by quite a bit, the 1MZ is an all alloy V6, compact in size and only about 40kgs heavier than the standard engine.
Got to love keyboard mechanics!

In my opinion the 3vz is too heavy to even consider in a Corolla, nevermind attaching a boat anchor auto box to it as well, which i'm guessing was also the Camry one, man those weigh 30 kilos more than a normal manual box.
The best choice for a Corolla would be the VVti version of the 1mz-fe from the Rx300, no weight penalty and a lot more power than the 3vz, which is a dinosaur of an engine by comparison.

^My local yard has some 1mz engines. I don't think any are VVT, but I think one has the TRD supercharger, two are from Sienna's and I think the one with the sc is either from an Avalon or Camry. If I actually was comfortable doing a swap, and had all the means to do so, I'd probably attempt this

A TRD charger eh? What would be the chance of you buying that and me buying it from you at a profit?

I'd see what they want for it, but I wouldn't doubt it if they asked for atleast a thousand or even more.

Would it be possible for you to give a basic price for a 3sgte conversion on a silvertop ae101? mine is a levin but is the exact same ass the yellow fx gt you converted before.. i would only want a very basic engine swap, no shiny bits
