| thanks mate, just wondering if those foglamps the same as the vestatec released in europe as dealer option. here are sample pictures of the vestatec for the FX bumper from a brochure really wanted to have a foglight so I can use my OEM stalk lever with foglamp switch. My last resort is the hella grille but was told it will no fit perfectly with the aux fan. | |

| Should be having a _really_ rare optional extra fall on my doorstep in the next few days, if it fits and how it looks will depend on whether I keep it or sell it to one of you lucky guys Will happily take guesses though :p | |

| Looks pretty nice when painted, though I'm not sure why it can't sit flush more like the FX bumper. | |

| Here's a new addition to the thread - AE101 Corolla factory option ultrasonic parking sensors. These are incredibly rare and this is the first time I've ever seen a set fitted to a Corolla in real-life, other than in the factory sales brochure. They get mounted on each corner of the front and rear bumpers, just in front of the park lights and tail lights. A small rectangular hole was cut into each corner from factory to allow the sensors to slot in, and were each held in place by a metal retaining clip. This particular option was ONLY available as an option for the Japanese SE-G model, which is the most luxurious model Toyota ever made, just ahead of the SE Limited and GT sedan. The wiring ran into the cabin, to a computer unit under the dash (mounted above the glovebox), and then to the display which takes the place of where the standard clock would usually be. The display still acts as a clock but also gives visual warnings of how close each corner of the car is getting to an object (walls, poles, other vehicles etc). It also makes a loud beeping sound which gets faster and faster the closer you get to an object, so you can never accidentally go too far. The volume of the beeping is able to be adjusted by the knob on the computer unit. The rear parking sensors will only work when reverse gear is selected, and the front parking sensors will only work when the button on the display is pressed, meaning that it won't annoy you in slow moving traffic etc. A small light on the display is illuminated to indicate that the front parking sensors are activated. They work by emitting and detecting ultrasound. As it pulses, the computer unit measures the time it takes for the sound it emits to be heard again. The pitch, or frequency, of the sound is so high that humans cannot hear it. As sound hits a solid object, it is reflected back creating an echo, telling the system precisely how close the car is to coming in contact with a particular object and giving you the ability to reverse into tight spaces with confidence. I probably won't install this unit on my Corolla, mainly because there's no way I'm willing to cut into my bumpers (although I was toying with the idea of clipping them inconspicuously at the bottom of the bumpers), but purchased them anyway purely for the purpose of this thread as there is literally no other info about them online. Here's some photos I took earlier. The first three however are photos from the original JDM sales brochure, showing a Corolla SE-G with these exact parking sensors fitted: | |

| ^ Yeah if I was to install them I'd have to buy a whole heap of wire so I could extend it to the various components. Was hoping that the wiring would be a separate loom but it was tied into the body loom, which confirmed my suspicions that it was installed during the manufacturing process as per a customer's pre-order request. I've got all of the plug connectors however, so it would just be the wiring that would need to be extended | |
