Meltdown

Ok its a long story so get you'r cup of tee ready and settle down.

i bought my AE101 september 2014 as a winter beater. I emidiatly fell in love with her, almost love at firs sight. so i sold my BMW to fix the engine when it broke down in december 2014 (her engine ran out of clock). so I towd her to the local workshop and had them fix her. Then it happened again early in january 2015 same problem witch made me think it was a bad mechanic, so I sent her to TOYOTA Iceland(the biggest and most expensive Mechanics in Iceland. She had never bin better! at least i thought so. she broke down again just half an hour ago. It felt like she had lost power just a minute before it happened again. i know i should have stopped but i was on a mountain pass with out mobile. so i needed to keep on until the was signal. just two seconds before she shut down on me i herd this noise like there was metal fan hitting hard surface(came from the right side). I think that it was the timing belt tensioner(its new from early january). it is the same thing that last two times. If I fix it it is just going to happen again.

So... What engine should i buy and swap in to my little girl. I'm Thinking something that is not much heavier than the old 4A-FE but has more power stock

i have a bulletproof 3sge in mine... great engines

yea the 4age family of engines are awesome. the 3sge/gte are also great options with plenty of power but a lil bit more complicated in regards to the swap. however, you can find plenty of info on here in regards to both swaps. good luck with your search and decision
