Has anybody tried or used Seafoam in their Engine, Fuel, or Vaccum lines yet & was there any difference afterwards?

I did it in mine back in the day, I did 2 parts vacuum lines and 1 part gas IIRC. I didn't notice any difference after, even though there was a lot of smoke lol. The engine did fall apart though.... I'm not using it ever again lol. I just use Shell V-Power now to keep things clean.

Damn Chris it destroyed your engine! I was thinking about trying it but now forget it I already use Lucas gas treatment but I was going to try it to Smoke out the Honda Boys but I still will when I use it in my beater lawn mower! Lol cheers

Yeah I definitely think it cleaned out all the deposits holding the oil from leaking through, and without those deposits, it burned oil faster than I could put it in lol.

Lucasoil products are what I'd recommend!!  Approve!

I second the Lucas products comment. I have worked for O'Reilly Auto Parts for almost 4 years now and I have watched Seafoam grow in popularity. Honestly it's just hyped up, nicely bottled Naptha. There is nothing special to it. Not to say that it doesn't help some people with carbon build up but I'm not a huge fan of it, and I have tried it on multiple cars and bikes.

Various companies are even attacking Seafoam saying that it's basically false advertisement and why their product is better.

PostSubject: Re: Seafoam   Seafoam EmptyThu Sep 25, 2014 2:38 pm

I thought about using seafoam on my car as well, but fear that it'll make my car burn oil even worse. Right now I burn a quart at about in the range of 3000-3500 miles. Which is easy to live with since I always change the oil by then.

I figured that my car runs great so I probably shouldn't push my luck with seafoam.

I've never heard about Gumout's equivalent. I'll have to look into that.

Really, any concentrated fuel system cleaner will usually show differences in idle/running behavior as well as an increase in throttle response. You could use Lucas, Seafoam, Chevron, Gumout, Royal Purple, B12 Chem, or any of the other guys and they will all help; hence the size of the industry and the hundreds of options at any parts store. But like I said, it's just Naptha and lubricants, nothing special.
