Rear disc pad replacement

Hey guys,

Just want to replace the rear disc pads on my BZT wagon. Need to compress the caliper piston..do these rotate clockwise as they are pushed it? Anyone have any suggestions how to actually compress them without the special tool?

If they are like the normal AE10x rear discs where the handbrake actuates the caliper and not an internal drum, then yes you have to rotate the piston to compress it. As for the "special tool" you can get one for a couple of bucks from just about any auto parts store, or if you are really desperate then you can generally get it to work by using some needle-nose pliers in the indents. Still, when the proper tool is so cheap, why not use it?

Is the tool Toyota specific or for most cars? I suppose like Super Cheap Auto and the likes will have it. Just to be clear it rotates clockwise into the caliper? Cheers

There is probably a specific tool you could get from Toyota, but the universal ones you get from Supercheap/Repco etc work just fine. Fairly sure it is clockwise, I'll double-check
