| What's up. I'm the new asian guy. Name's Lee Thao. I drive a black automatic 1997 Corolla DX with the 4AFE. Car itself is basically OEM stock, aside from a GReddy-type eBay lip kit, some gold paint 16" Motegi MR8 wrapped in all-season Cooper Zeon low-pros and a Pioneer stereo with Bluetooth. I hate AUX wires.
Got the car from the mother-in-law after she and it lost the battle with a couple of the neighbor's mailboxes. Hood and passenger fender were pretty beat up, along with a broken corner light. Bumper bar and radiator support was also bent to hell so I ghetto straightened the radiator support with a couple of 5lb mallets. Not perfect BUT it works. Most everything lines up. Threw on some junk yard body parts, lip kit and wheels and that's how she sits at the moment.
No major plans. Maybe turn her into a super low budget, low boost turbocharged build project. I'm from the Honda scene but I figured this wouldn't be any different. Maybe who knows, swap in a 4AGE Blacktop in the future and see how well Toyota's automatics can handle a little more extra power.
Oh yeah, my little brother just picked up a decently clean red SW11 MR2 with a Blacktop swap, lucky guy. Maybe a story on that a little later.

| its a nice start i have to agree some new headlights and grille would do wonders. just keep at it and do w/e makes you happy. theres a lot of gd info here and everyones super friendly. If ur gonna boost go manual, i swapped in a ST 20v auto and after driving it for a few months im already bored and gathering my manual swap. If you do intend on boosting, i believe the ST is best suited of the both 20v motors for that, or you can bypass everything and just swap in a 3sgte but ur gonna need deep pockets for that lol. w/e you decide im sure itll be great. youre on a gd start look forward to more updates | |
