| hi everyone! my name is jj, from the bay area. i stumbled upon this site earlier this week, what a relief! its really nice to be around like minded people, our cars used to be outcasts. hehe! ive been knee deep in toyotas since i was a kid, familys fault. hehe! ive had the same corolla sedan since college, and im planning on doing a major revamp on it once again. i dont intend this to be a build thread, i just have no idea where to say hello? i apologize if this is the wrong place for this... heres some pictures : this was taken in 2002, it had GAB coilovers and konig rims (i couldnt afford real deal te's at that time,hehe) engine wise it had a cold air intake and full exhaust and vafc, installed a c56 transmission and had the intake manifold ported. i thought i had the fastest car around. hehe, ahhh the good old days! car was a 1994 dx 1.8 manual tranny and had every single option, still convinced its a rebadged LE! ill dig up more pics of my car hanging out during the early days of club4ag and bay area scca autox. converted everything to ae100 spec, maybe during 2005. car had been abused in NASA time trials and scca autox so a paintjob was necessary, although its not that nice looking anymore today due to more abuse. this was 4 years ago,hehe! i swapped an ae111 bzr blacktop during early 2005, when it was still legal to ship front clips here stateside. it was great fun, made 165whp with regrind cams and 100oct. it has a ton of miles under its belt (used to be my one and only car, probably 100k miles or so), its been sitting for the last 3 years now due to needing new piston rings. took a break from toyotas, so i got suckered by my friends into hondas. had a couple of civics, here is my last build. recently got a new daily driver, its a 96 dx station wagon. automatic is king, cant imagine shifting gears on a daily basis. hehe! plan for the sedan is atleast 400whp, my last civic made 550whp so anything less just feels wrong. thats all for now! again, this is awesome that there are like minded people sharing their work and ideas. keep up the good work! ill also have a forsale thread with some pretty awesome pieces i have collected throughout the years, make sure to check it out when you have a chance! | |

| Dang!! What an intro! lol welcome to AE101owners. Beautiful sedan and wagon. Really like your taste.
What made you continue to stick with Corollas after your 550WHP Civic (not that it's a bad thing)?

| Welcome along, it's a shame you got rid of that first Corolla, it looked like fun! The wagon is cool to, so no worries | |

| nice man. yea it amazes me at how underrated 7th gens are. besides fwd i dont see any real downside to any other car people tune like ivics and vws/ has swap options, can make power out of engine easily. had factory sport versions. blows my mind | |

| magweal -> caldina 3sgte with a gt35, if everything works out i should have it by next year. one of my friends has a turbo blacktop, 350whp on a 57trim turbo. his cost is equal to what im trying to spend, hopefully it works out.
gold94corolla -> thank you!
akuma64 -> it boils down to aftermarket support, toyotas just dont have any. there are some parts here and there but people who push the envelopes are very rare, thus costs are enormous. just to set an example, my first honda i built a 1.9 litre NA bseries. 210whp on pumpgas with meth, total cost of engine was around $5g. my blacktop build was easily more than $5g and was struggling to make more than 165whp on race gas, but to each their own.
