3sgte engine conversion, what transmission options.

really looking into a 3sgte engine swap on my corolla. either a 3rd gen or 4th gen still not sure. kinda depends what i can get also.

but i'm lost on what other components to use to make it all work. i want to keep it fwd, not planing on any huge power. must be manual or i wont bother at all.
basically i need my shopping list, hopefully you guys can help me with some advice and options. tips on what worked and didn't work for you.
any and all help would be great as im still learning in been a car enthusiast! Smile

you can use an E153 box from the toyota mr2.. just need to modify the shifter selector on the box as you are going to be using it as a fwd not rwd

or you could use a s54 gearbox from a celica or mr2 (rev 3+)

so the E153 box from a toyota mr2 works happy on either 3rd or 4th gen yeah?
what it matter to much what year model car the E153 box came out of.

just wanna have the exact numbers/details to the options. so i can order the right bit if it comes to that.

is one better than the other?

and what about power steering pump. is that just whatever fits up?

the e153 was available in the rev3+ 3sgte if i remember correctly
the difference is that one box is from a turbo the other from a NA engine

it should work, but why would you want an auto box?

Don't really want it but its what I can find with ease

try and find an S50 box from a camry, i know of a people using that box and having no problems

made a mistake the auto transmission from the v6 is really the A541E
