Subject: How to replace speedometer due to broken trip meter Fri Jan 04, 2013 1:14 pm
this is a terrible quality video on how to replace just the speedometer (not the cluster itself). usually you would replace the whole thing, but for some reason my brother wanted to use the cluster that came in the car. you need to know this anyway cause you'll have to take it apart to change the miles when you put your new one in. if you have any questions feel free to ask and if you have any requests post them. also, it is said that you can swap out the speedos from a cluster with a tach to a cluster that doesn't. ive never tried it so i don't know

When my trip meter would break (twice), it was because the tiny plastic tabs holding the gears together would break. A little superglue and they were as good as new!

I just watched this video! Thanks for showing how to change the odometer reading to match, that was always hard for me to explain with pics and words lol.
And yeah, your trip meter was broken WAY more than mine ever was lol... I don't know if superglue could fix that :/

Good stuff man. I know the mileage roll-back part is gonna be particularly useful for those who plan on swapping out their tachless clusters to one with a tach.
But man, 300xxx miles?! Guess that one didn't burn oil.
