| wow, awesome noise with open throttles. sounds like its gets to redline pretty quickly.
unbelieveable there were no cops on mill rd/ gt sth rd/ mahia rd. (i read you have a radar. good work.)
if you want to pull a top speed run, hit the motorway south bound and cane it on "ramarama straight" just after drury. ive gotten to around 270ish kph there before lifting off haha.

Cheers guys. The CAI piping is purposely there to provide outside air to the trumpets. It doesn't have any vacuum so it's not actually pulling any air, but when accelerating it will be acting as a ram tube and the air will flow under the car, through the pipe and to the trumpets. Won't be doing a hell of a lot, but right now it's my only source of outside air. There's no filter on the end of course, lol. - ST3LTH wrote:

Yeah gets to redline pretty quick. Have to keep an eye on the tacho. I try not to valve bounce it too much as it's not good for the oxygen sensor. Haha yeah there were no cops around luckily. I use a Valentine One radar detector so it usually picks them up from miles away anyway . Nice tip! I know exactly where you mean. Might have to give that a go sometime

| Scott, can you provide me (maybe us) with the dimensions and angles of the total piping? I'm measuring a bit and don't want to waste any silicon | |

Oh, yeah I thought you still had the filter on the end haha, no wonder I thought it was doing absolutely nothing. - Sgt_Lyna wrote:

Not sure if you saw my DIY, but they're all the same. I used 2 identical pipes, 18" long 2.5" diameter and 45 degree bend. Very simple.

You'll just need 2x 600mm long 45-degree 3" alloy intercooler pipes, 1x 3"-2.5" silicone reducer (for the throttle body), 1x 3" silicone joiner (to connect the pipes together) and 5x hose clamps. Just mount the pipes in position and then mark a line on the pipe where your throttle body is, allowing enough room for the silicone reducer to still fit in. Cut the excess length off the pipe and then complete then install Refer to Chris' DIY, the guide I posted on ToyotaNation or the DIY that another member wrote based on that guide: http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/130-7th-generation-1993-1997/350689-new-94-corolla-1-6-owner-questions.html#post3259718 http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/130-7th-generation-1993-1997/354338-kiwi-corollas-cai-diy-usdm-7th-gen-56k-tour-france-bicycle.html My ITB splash guard arrived from the US today so I wasted no time in chucking it on. It's made by Techno Toy Tuning and is brushed aluminum, specifically for the Blacktop. It's really best suited to smaller trumpets such as 50mm and 70mm, since my 110mm ones are about the same length as the guard itself, but should still help prevent any water and stones etc from making their way further up into the engine bay. It ties in nicely with the trumpets and makes them look a bit more at home, while also acting as a gasket between the ITB's.

| I have seen a guy who broke his engine because of trumpets.. drove through some sand on the road, lost his compression Another guy drove into the sandpits on a trackday and filled one of his cylinders with sand. Piston and head looked brand new on that cylinder, but no compression So i guess the sand is way more dangerous than a rock! Eventhough i would use the trumpets any day! Do you know if the note or flow changes with the lenght of the trumpets? | |

| Thanks man. Once you have a 20v you'll wonder how you managed to live without it! I changed my front lip in the weekend. Decided I wanted something slightly fatter to give the front end a 'fuller' look - The only problem was that the particular front lip I wanted was extremely hard to find. After searching the local junkyards and wreckers for about a year I finally managed to find one a week ago. The actual lip itself is a genuine Toyota item which was a factory optional extra for the 1997-2001 Toyota Caldina (ST215, JDM). Since they were only available as an option, the vast majority of Caldinas don't have them fitted, which is why it took so long for me to find one. Got one in the end though and did a bit of custom work to make it fit. The fitment was very close but I had to heat it up to adjust the curvature a bit. Here's some pics that I took today: | |
