New from NZ

Hey guys,

Fantastic site here, been looking forever to find some sort of club for the Levin, but I guess this will do haha

I own an AE101 Silvertop Levin, I've been working on it for a few months now and have completely changed the vehicle, I got the vehicle with high revs, old belts, a problem with the clutch and a large amount of pinking, but all of these problems have been fixed, I've installed TRD ignition leads and it couldn't be better (still a little bit of barely noticeable pinking even after ignition timing) but not too bad for a first car

I've gone with a Black and Red colour theme for my baby, and I'm starting to focus on looks now, since it could really use a new paint job and a few touch ups here and there, any help in NZ would be great

Looking forward to talk to other enthusiasts

Here's a pic of the engine bay, planning on doing a few more things, paint the rocker cover, change a few things up, stuff like that



Here's the front, as you can see, one of the previous owners experimented with the paint job a little bit, painting it silver and black opposed to the stock green you can see in the engine bay, I'm planning on fitting an aftermarket bumper and skirt kit and painting it a metallic black since I'm not a huge fan of the paint on there, it's all chipping off anyway



And here's the back, when I bought the Levin it was fitted with the Trueno back panel rather than the Levin one, so that was quickly replaced, one of the next things to change will be the exhaust system, since one of the ehxausts has restricted flow, so an aftermarket exhaust system should look and sound quite good



it was quite under rated by my mates when I first got it, because of the handling, the timing, etc. now they're all quite amazed with the changes, it's a lot smoother and way more responsive, so I'm really pleased with my progress on it since it's my first car, and I had little to no experience at fixing up cars before that

let me know if there's anything you can think of that I could consider getting done to it, I'm open to opinion
