so scott to summarize for the twin pot conversion we need ae101/ae111 twinpots st202 cariers and 275mm disk with 54 or 55 mm center hole???

back to this thread again,i would like to ask if corolla zze123 t sport (vvtli) front discs would fit perfectly to our conversion??.....

I have also heard that the post 87 MR2 AW11 front disc's are perfect. 257mm.
Just grind your standard carriers back and bolt on the twin pott caliper.

just a quick question i have macphersion setup on ae111 and i want to back to twin pot brakes

so if i use st202 carriers i can use the 275 mm discs yes
but i use the carriers for a ss levin i can only use the 255mm discs yes

Yes, with the ST202 carrier brackets you can use the 275mm discs, but with the AE101/AE111 carrier brackets you can only run up to 260mm discs.

Correct, but I found the post 1987 aw11 MR2 has 257mm disc that will bolt straight up

Levin GT Apex discs are 258mm, with other models only being slightly smaller, so in most cases it makes sense for people to stick to their original discs, unless they want to upgrade to the 275mm discs and use the Celica carrier brackets.

Yeah just use the McPherson ones. They fit fine, just that the mounting tab which bolts to the strut no longer reaches, so you can either make up a little bracket to bridge the tab to the strut, run braided brake lines or simply just leave it as it doesn't make any difference (except maybe at MOT time when they see it and tell you off Laughing

).

Hi guys,

Newbie here. I currently use the Levin brake booster, steel braided lines & Levin twin pot calipers on my setup(I performed a little grinding to fit) on standard 20 valve rotors and they work really well.

After reading this post I'm grateful to you guys because I still have the 275mm rotors and figured I'd have to get a bracket built or something to fit the bigger twin pot calipers but I'm going to be on a hunt to find ST202 carrier brackets.

I'm hunting for the ST202 Celica carrier brackets. Could you point me in the right direction to source them?

Or do you know of anyone whom I can purchase them from?

I have the same set up on my car, don't remember where but I see or read about the same set up but with bigger brake pads, the ones that take more area on the disc. can't remember if it from Celica or other model but is bigger than the MR2 that we have installed.

Anyone know from what car model they are?

the levin ae111 pads, st202 pads, sw20 pads, avensis pads are all the same / similar

The Box of te pads that come with the Rotors/Discs from UK have a Label that state the following cars use exactly the same pads:

Citroen C5 08+
Toyota Avenis 97-03
Toyota Carina E 92-97
Toyota MR2 89-00

so from this ones are not the options of the bigger ones...

The ST202 Celica pads are slightly wider compared to the AE111 Levin ones, so cover a fraction more of the disc on the inside. The difference in braking performance would be negligible however. When I bought my pads I was deciding between the two types and ended up going for the AE111 pads as they're more suitable for the size/weight of the car.
