| Haha ya, it was like a jigsaw puzzle, it wouldn't come out until i had everything else off first Car is almost a shell now, just the engine block to come out, then il fit the beams, get it sitting right then out it comes again because i really have to scrub that engine bay, sick of looking at the dirt in there haha | |

| some nice progress since I was last in the thread man.seen on the first labelling pic...you labelled the throttle cable i think lol all joking aside, the wiring shouldn't be too bad, i have the ECU outs somewhere for the 16-pin ecu connector, then its only tracing of the black (i think 22-pin?) connector on the engine loom for the interior (not connected to ecu as such).they're the only awkward bits you need to splice should be a nice beast when its done though. btw whats happening the old engine box loom and ecu?i may need the 1.3 running gear soon lol, so donations accepted haha | |

| Thanks mate spent all day yesterday elbow deep in a celica engine bay at the scrap yard pulling all sorts of goodies out of it. i was like a child at christmas haha. got real lucky tho, a clean st202 just sitting there, as i was pulling out the alternator and starter, a shuddering thought crossed my mind, that the car i was taking apart might belong to a customer who parked up to look for parts haha oh well was all good tho! anyways, i got myself an alternator, starter, gear selector clips, loads of bolts and nuts etc... a heat shield for the manifold, some gearbox bits, loads of little parts for the engine and also a front crash bar for the corolla (took me about 45 minutes to take it off a scrapped corolla cause the nuts were rusted to shit!! came home with loads of parts and a few cuts to prove my hard work haha. good day! il post some pics later on!! | |

| That is a ton of work! Interesting paint used on the heat shield and bracket, almost has a texture to it. I like! Whats the brand/name of the paint?
There is a Beams swapped 7th gen wagon around town here and the driver has troubles keeping traction... he finds it harder to drive in the wet no less.. haha. Good luck! | |

| Haha had that problem before the conversion!! Got the paint in halfords, its high temperature paint, halfords own brand. its nice but a little too orange than red, still looking for a darker red, closer to the cars paint. Thanks for the comments mate. | |

| Well it pissed rain again today so i stayed in and continued prep work on the engine. There was some rust and a load of dirt and grease on the block where the fly wheel sits. i sanded it and put degreaser on it, then cleaned it up good as new. Manky!! Sanded and Degreaser Cleaned the guard too Anyone know what this is for? its a metal plate sitting on the block just behind the flywheel, it moves form side to side I took off my power steering pump from the 1.3 4efe corolla engine the last day, so i mock fitted it to the front of the engine. the beams ps pump sits on the back of the beams but im going to use the 1.3 one (bigger pully and saves me from re-plumbing the hoses). I will make up a template of a metal plate that will bolt under the tensioner (where the AC pump would sit), then line up the ps pump with the other pullys, and bolt it to the metal plate (saw this work on a 3sgte conversion for a corolla) Heres how it will look! After that, i made some adjustments to the corollas ECU cradle so the beams ECU will fit in it. Then i thought i may just put the ecu somewhere that i can access it easily when the dash goes back in. The ECU is an automatic which restricts the engine by about 10hp. All that is restricting it is a small resistor inside which can be soldered out, so after everything is up and running i will at some point be either changing the ECU or taking out the resistor. Gave the inside of the gearbox a clean with degreaser, and the starter motor!! Every Toyota bolt under the sun kindly donated by a good friend (just had to stick that pic in there haha) This is the second of the 2 manifolds i have. This one is cleaner but was stuck to the down pipe. brought it to Calbro exhaust center in Galway and got the bolts heated and removed. I gave it a light sanding and sprayed it black with high temp paint. Also sanded the pipe for the dipstick and sprayed it black too Sanded Looking nice Dipstick pipe Back on the engine. Looking well now The camera makes the red look slightly orange, so heres a pic without the flash on More tomorrow | |

| Well the weather has been shit for the last few days so not much has been done. still have to order a clutch kit but im still not sure what one will fit the beams (looking for a stage 2 by exedy. there on ebay but dont really specify for the beams). Was hoping to do it this week but looks like thats not gonna happen, it will be soon tho. ive not been putting deadlines on things, just doing it as i go and it seems to be working so far haha. i have to organize getting my mates engine crane to the house also. in the meantime im going to get the shafts sorted | |
