replumbing the powersteering wasnt that hard to do
drove her 80+ miles and the diff broke lol

if your box is going to sit like mine then your shafts will most likely have to be same length as mine, because i changed the inner cv i thought id take pics...

and before you ask, i used a gen7 vvti celica inner shaft (same as st202 shaft)

the passenger side has also been cut and welded, but didnt remove it so couldnt measure or take pics sorry

No worries, im using the shaft of an st182, its shorter.

do you know if a st182 driveshaft will fit into a st202 gearbox?

Ya mate, thats why i went through everything in detail before i started my project, wanted to make sure it would all go together. the only difference between the st202 and st182 shafts are that the st182 is thicker (stronger) and about an inch or so shorter than the st202. same spline numbers etc... just fit the st202 inner joint to the st182 shaft. the inner joint also has loads of play in it if needed. all details above. id recommend doing that mate, two shafts that have been cut and welded back isn't as safe as it could be. it weakens the shaft and the straightness could be off by even a millimeter, you would notice the car feel shaky at speed!! better safe than sorry. have a look into the st182 driver side shaft too, the outer part might be shorter (haven't researched that) if so, you could just swap them round too!!

iv found that the st182 drive shaft is 37" when the inner cv is pushed all the way in, if a st182 fits from end to end, il fit that into my car soon... just to confirm

st182 & St202 outer cv spline count are the same (where it goes into the hub)
St182 & St202 inner spline count are the same (where it goes into the box)

just the length between both shafts is different

all celica shafts and cv joint spline numbers are the same, 25 on shaft, 26 on cv joint outer (to hubs). corolla shafts are 24 on shaft, 26 on outer cv joint also so yes, they'l fit the hubs, simply put the st202 inner joint (passenger side) on the st182 shaft (passenger side) and yer laugh'n!

...also when i was finding this out, you wouldn't believe the amount of people that really dont know and just repeated what they heard. was told celica cv joints wouldn't fit the corolla hubs but i tried and the spline numbers were the same, only reason i didn't use the st202 cv joints is that they are very thick!! all this in he thread tho, check it out
