Hello from East Tennessee

Hi all. My name is Steve, from Knoxville, TN. I'm a full time automotive tech and reservist in the US Army.

I've been ghosting this site or quite a while and decided to finally join. I am the proud owner of my second AE101. The first one, 1997 base model sedan, I had in high school was sadly destroyed by family during my extended absence from the states. And the second one, 1996 DX sedan, I picked up for a smooth $300 USD...it had a blown motor and front end damage but was salvageable in my eyes.

After 2 nights in the garage, 3 trips to the machine shop, 4 different junk yards, and a few pizzas I had Thelma, my Corolla, back on the road. She is far from perfect but slowly coming together.

I decided I wanted to be different from most of the Hondas in my area and modify the Corolla...my wife calls it a granny car  ....and I've barely scratched the surface of things on my list.

Now a little bit about the car...

1996 DX Sedan - Brilliant Red
1.8 7AFE w/ A246E automatic transmission
Shaved door handles, antenna, and badges
Novice sound system....(2) 12s and 2000w amp, Kicker highs/mids
Remote start for cold days!  
Everything else is pretty much stock.

Bassett D-Hole 15x8 wheels tucked nicely
Lips like Angelina Jolie
5-speed manual swap
20v swap (no time soon)
Old school 4-fold rag top
All black interior (currently ugly ass tan)

One piece door panels...this is important to me

you can use flickr to upload pictures and just copy and paste the bbc code in your reply. dont worry man, the ae101 is an absolutely beautiful platform in my opinion. Ive had my car for 10+ yrs now and started modding it about 5 yrs ago. Its taken me forever and is still a work in progress but I keep moving forward. Slow and steady is my motto and i just keep at it. Post some pics when you can

the ae101 is a an awesome base to work with, if you get a min go through all the builds, mine for example has been through so many transformations and im still not done with it (kinda done with the engine swaps though, its got a 3sge transplant, powerful enough )..

you can upload pictures using the site, click the box with the red arrow, upload it, then copy the image code and then click on the box with the green arrow and post the pic



Or something similar.  You upload pics to servimg or photobucket or flickr or anywhere, and then use the IMG code.
