| The wiring on the mirrors The mirror switch pinout Some extra info, the mirrors don't have two motor for the retract/extend functions. The polarity make them either retract or extend. Motor A is connection A and motor B is connection B, there's officially not called A and B, but I've used it to clarify things. The mirror relay pinout The layout ain't as sweet as previous pinouts, but it works I guess

| I know there are still wires missing, I will be adding those once I have finished my research | |

| How are your mirrors coming on?

| Mine work thanks But I'm too lazy to unscrew it all to finish the diagrams now... Luckily Scott has a set now and will send me pics of the wiring, so I can finish the coloured diagram for future reference. | |

| I actually dual plugged my mirror wiring, so I can use my old mirrors as well... because the angle is quite off for LHD vehicles. When my new home is bought and finished I will tend to modifying the JDM ones so I can actually see a thing through em | |

When my new home is bought and finished I will tend to modifying the JDM ones so I can actually see a thing through em What's different about the JDM mirrors compared to left hand drive mirrors? Aren't they adjustable to the point of working the same way?

| I believe its the angle of the mirror casing no the mirror its self | |

| Also, the reflection of each mirror is different. You know how the far side says "Object in mirror are closer than they appear"? The mirrors do not aim OR look right on the wrong side. | |

Is it possible to replace the glass with the glass from the USDM mirrors and aim that properly?

| I believe you can.... but they will still not aim properly, as the mirror housing itself is responsible for the aim. You can check your mirrors now and see that they aren't symmetrical! | |

| These pictures were posted on the IS300 forum yesterday. These are JDM aftermarket mirrors on the USA LHD car. (since they are aftermarket, I'm not sure if the passenger mirror has the special convex surface). The mirrors are adjusted to the max, this is as good as they can get. This guy also has the JDM mirrors.... lol: - Quote :

Is it possible to replace the glass with the glass from the USDM mirrors and aim that properly? No you can't, at least not without serious modifcation. The shape of the glass is different, but I have no problems experience with the reflection though. The placement of the housing is different, schematically like this: RHD / ( === ) -- LHD -- ( === ) \ The angle (calculated from the car) is bigger for the drivers side mirror. You can adjust the mirrors quite a lot, but if your seat is placed towards the front of the car the passengers side mirror will become useless. There are three solutions: 1. Modify the housing so you can adjust the mirrors even more 2. Try to fit your own brackets (this might be quite difficult) 3. Drive fast enough so you don't need your rearview mirrors... I can live with the view though, I am 1.80m, but my girl not (1.70m), so I will be tending to modifying according to plan 1. For the ones in doubt as to question wether to buy or not, these mirrors give you: 1. +20% swagger 2. +50BHP easily! 3. Something unique! 4. Something to do for quite some time (less now, because I did the wire research for you already) 5. Mirrors to play with (which you WILL DO) 6. More self esteem, because you pulled it off... Any questions? Shoot!

| That's all folks! Just uploaded the new (and complete) diagrams in the startpost...
An excel file with the complete diagram (instead of separate images) can be sent on request.

| Hey guys, so i've got a set of folding mirrors, switch and the relay box now the problem is, with my australian made 94 corolla, i can't seem to find the mirror relay. I've installed the switch and the mirror adjustments work perfectly fine. so I'm guessing it's the relay that controls retractions and extensions. What should I do now? connect each and single wires one by one ? :O Or there is a mirror relay somewhere in the car it's just that my eyes are so fuked up that i can't see D: Cheers | |

| I'll have a better look in the wiring diagrams when I get home but I don't think our Aus-made Corollas have a standalone relay for the power mirrors, everything was controlled within the switch (since we didn't have retractables) and just got a single fused Acc power feed.
Looking at Sgt_Lyna's pinouts on the front page, there shouldn't be a problem as the relay box you got with the mirrors just needs switched power and ground, so really you're replacing the existing all-in-one mirror switch with a new switch and a standalone relay.

| I've got an electronic copy of the wiring diagram (from the Gregorys manual) on my Photobucket account, they can be a bit hard to read though (hence why I was going to double-check the hardcopy when I got home)

| Thanks Hiro... I ended up wiring them all together rather than a "factory" wiring. My problem now is.... how should I get the wires from the door to the car? Oh and here on this datasheet it says " Power before or after ignition", is it the same is normal 12V? | |

| Since this topic already exists, I thought I would share the schematic I made for the power folding mirrors. If you want to make it match the factory wiring, here's the schematic (based on the schematic found in the Japanese Corolla FX Wiring book and using the same connector numbering as found in the US Corolla Wiring Diagram book) If I need to fix something, let me know. | |
